King's College Soto Summer Camp is an international summer camp on the twelve-acre campus of King's College School, Soto de Viñuelas, in the countryside north of Madrid. Residential campers live in Tenbury House, a purpose-built boarding residence on campus with en-suite twin rooms and separate wings for boys and girls, with arrivals on Sundays and departures on Saturdays. About
About the Course
Campers choose one programme option for the session. Six residential options pair either language teaching, in English or Spanish, or S.T.E.A.M. workshops with a sports strand: Core covers the onsite multi-sports programme, Core+ adds premium sports both on and off campus, and the football option is delivered with coaches from the Real Madrid Foundation Campus Experience. A seventh option, Performing Arts, teaches musical theatre in English and rehearses towards a final performance. Teaching is delivered by qualified English- and Spanish-speaking teachers and monitors, with daily language or S.T.E.A.M. sessions running alongside the sports and leisure programme.
What’s Included
The programme fee is all-inclusive for the elements the camp runs itself. For day and residential campers it covers teaching staff, daily language or S.T.E.A.M. sessions, the sports and leisure programme, accident insurance, a parent communication and photo-sharing platform, weekly Wednesday excursions depending on the option chosen, and lunch and snacks. Residential campers additionally receive full boarding in Tenbury House, en-suite rooms, laundry service, one downtown Madrid excursion per session and weekly evening excursion activities. Transport for activities and excursions is included; airport transfers, the day-camper bus route, and optional swimming, horse riding and robotics sessions are charged separately.
Accommodation
Residential campers live in Tenbury House, a purpose-built student residence on the campus itself, surrounded by green space and recently fully renovated. Rooms are en-suite twin rooms with private bathrooms and modern fixtures, and boys and girls are accommodated in separate wings. The provider notes that en-suite places are limited. Arrivals are on Sundays and departures on Saturdays, and the residence is supervised around the clock.
Meal Plan
All meals are served in the campus dining hall. Residential campers receive breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, an afternoon snack and dinner; day campers receive lunch and snacks. The kitchen serves both traditional Spanish and international dishes, offers vegetarian and vegan options, and accommodates allergies, intolerances and special diets. The camp publishes a sample weekly menu.
Activities & Excursions
Alongside the chosen programme option, campers take part in a sports and leisure programme using the campus pitches, courts, pool and riding school. A special activities and excursions programme runs every week, with off-site trips to cultural landmarks, sports venues and recreational destinations, transported by private coach. Residential campers also get one downtown Madrid excursion per session and weekly evening activities such as go-karting or laser tag. Optional extras — swimming, horse riding and robotics — can be added at additional cost.
Facilities
The twelve-acre campus combines academic and sports facilities: a football ground and five-a-side pitches, multipurpose courts, an indoor swimming pool, a riding school and a gym, plus an auditorium and performing arts studio, an arts and crafts room, a computer lab, large classrooms, a dining hall, a nurse's clinic and the secure boarding residence.
Camp Experience
The camp sits in quiet countryside north of Madrid and draws campers from around the world, so English and Spanish are both working languages of the day. Days move between lessons or workshops, sport, and creative or excursion time, with qualified monitors supervising throughout and round-the-clock cover in the residence. A no-phone policy during activities is used deliberately to keep campers engaged with each other, with supervised phone time set aside each day so families stay in touch.
