About

About the Course

The teenage programme is conversational and intensive: it recreates life in a small English-speaking community, where the language is used in class, in activities and between campers rather than practised in isolation. Campers are grouped by level, and the method asks for a commitment to speaking English throughout the camp day instead of working through a textbook.

What’s Included

The base programme covers tuition, residential accommodation on campus, full board and the listed activities and excursions. Sessions run in two-week blocks, with a longer four-week option covering the first half of the summer, so families can choose between a short stay and an extended immersion.

Accommodation

Teenagers live on the campus of Colegio El Centro Ingles in shared dormitories, with boys and girls accommodated separately and staff present around the clock. Classrooms, sports facilities, the dining hall and the residence share one enclosed site, so campers stay within the same grounds through the day.

Meal Plan

Full board is served on campus, cooked in-house around the Mediterranean diet with a rotating menu. Dietary requirements are accommodated when families give notice in advance, and beach days and excursions are covered with packed meals or a barbecue.

Activities & Excursions

Afternoons and weekends run on the Cadiz coast: beach sessions, a surf afternoon that finishes with a barbecue on the sand, a water park, the Tree Adventure zipline excursion, a trip to the Calas de Roche coves near Conil and the camp-wide Clash of the Colours competition. Padel, football, basketball and swimming are available on campus through the week.

Facilities

The site provides air-conditioned classrooms with interactive whiteboards, indoor and outdoor sports facilities including padel, football and basketball, an indoor swimming pool, a dining hall and about five thousand square metres of pine woodland used for evening activities. The beach is roughly ten minutes away.

Camp Experience

The camp suits teenagers who want to use English rather than study it, in a group of peers from Spain and abroad. Supervision runs around the clock through teachers, monitors and a welfare team, and the balance between structured morning work and an active social programme is designed to build fluency and independence at the same time.

More about this camp

TECS Puerto Teens is the provider’s English immersion camp for teenagers aged 14 to 17, held on the campus of Colegio El Centro Ingles in El Puerto de Santa Maria, on the Cadiz coast of southern Spain. It is residential: teenagers sleep, study, eat and spend their free time inside one enclosed campus about ten minutes from the beach, with teachers, monitors and a welfare team present around the clock. The method is built around total immersion rather than classroom study. The camp recreates life in a small English-speaking community: campers commit to using English in lessons, in activities and with each other, and the morning sessions are conversation-led and highly interactive rather than textbook-driven. Groups are formed by level, and the aim is fluency and confidence in speaking, supported by listening, reading and writing tasks tied to camp projects. For teenagers who already have some English, the difference from an academy course is that the language becomes the medium of the day rather than the subject of a lesson. Outside the teaching block, the programme uses its location. Afternoons and weekends bring beach sessions on the Cadiz coast, a surf afternoon that finishes with a barbecue on the sand, a water park, the Tree Adventure excursion with ropes and ziplines, and a trip to the Calas de Roche coves near Conil. Padel, football, basketball and swimming run on campus through the week, and the camp-wide Clash of the Colours competition gives teams a reason to organise, argue and negotiate in English across the session. All listed activities and excursions are covered by the base programme. The campus is a working international school. It offers air-conditioned classrooms with interactive whiteboards, indoor and outdoor sports facilities including padel and football, an indoor swimming pool, a dining hall and roughly five thousand square metres of pine woodland used for evening activities. Teenagers stay in shared dormitories, with boys and girls accommodated separately. Meals are cooked in-house around the Mediterranean diet, and dietary requirements are accommodated when families give notice in advance. Sessions are offered in two-week blocks through the summer, with a four-week option covering the first half of the season for families who want a longer stay. Accompanied transfers are available from Seville, Bilbao and Madrid subject to minimum and maximum numbers, and pick-up at Jerez airport and at the El Puerto de Santa Maria train station is offered at no additional cost; all transfer requests are subject to availability and confirmation. The camp fits teenagers who want to use English in a peer group rather than sit a course, and families who want an active summer with a clear structure, close supervision and a Spanish coastal setting. Availability, dates and prices may change quickly; send an enquiry through CampsBooking and the details will be confirmed before you make travel arrangements.
