A ski camp at Espot in the north of Catalonia, one of the few Spanish resorts set beside a national park — Aigüestortes and the Sant Maurici lake. The group is housed at the foot of the slopes, so the skis go on at the door. Six full days on the mountain include two hours of ski-school lessons a day, with skiing or snowboarding chosen at registration and a level test at the end of the stay. The programme suits beginners and intermediate skiers. Helmets are provided for everyone and must be worn. Off the piste there are evening activities, big games, igloo-building and snowman competitions.

About the Course

Six full days are spent on the slopes of Espot Esqui, in the north of Catalonia. Two hours of ski-school lessons a day are included, and each participant chooses skiing or snowboarding at the time of registration. The camp is aimed at beginners and intermediate riders, and a level test is offered at the end of the stay. Helmets are provided for everyone and wearing them is compulsory. The programme is given as a guide and can change with the snow conditions.

What’s Included

It's a fixed all-in package per participant. The package covers travel from the chosen French departure city — a flight from Paris to Toulouse and then a private coach to the centre — accommodation and meals, the ski-school lessons and lift access, and the supervising team. Insurance, assistance, repatriation and medical costs are covered in full, and telephone assistance is available around the clock. An identity card or passport, an exit authorisation for the minor with a copy of the signing parent's identity document, a copy of the family record book, the vaccination record, a health information form and a European Health Insurance Card are required.

Accommodation

The group is housed at the foot of the pistes in a building with capacity for thirty-six, in rooms of four to six beds with a bathroom either in the room or on the landing.

Activities & Excursions

Skiing or snowboarding fills the days. In the evenings the team runs themed activities and big games, and outside there are igloo-building and snowman competitions.

Camp Experience

Groups are around twenty-four participants, with a minimum of twelve for the departure to run. The team is led by a BAFD-qualified director selected by the operator's head of education, with one BAFA-qualified counsellor for every eight to ten young people and a welfare assistant holding first-aid certification.

Passion Aventure Junior

Passion Aventure Junior is a French youth travel operator created in the early 1990s by a group of teachers and holiday-centre directors. It runs residential holiday camps — colonies de vacances — for children and teenagers: themed and sports stays at its own centres in the French countryside, ski weeks in the Pyrenees, and guided city trips further afield. Departures are arranged from more than twenty French cities by train, coach or plane, and unaccompanied minors travel accompanied. Each stay is led by an experienced BAFD-qualified director, a team of BAFA-qualified counsellors in the ratio set by French law, and a welfare assistant holding first-aid certification; all staff are salaried and declared to the French youth and sports authority. The operator is a member of UNOSEL and holds French organiser registration 031ORG0392. Telephone assistance is available around the clock, and insurance, assistance, repatriation and medical costs are covered in full.
