About

About the Course

An urban cultural stay in Barcelona for teenagers aged 13 to 17, organised by the Aroéven of Dijon. The two programme components the operator publishes are cultural visits in the city and an escape-game and orientation activity. The stated aims are a holiday that teaches as well as entertains, and the emancipation of the group: the young people are meant to be actors of their own holiday, deciding together, speaking up and making their own choices.

What’s Included

The price quoted per child covers the stay at the hostel, the programme of cultural visits and the coach travel from the departure town. Travel insurance is charged separately and is not part of the quoted figure. Travel is by touring coach, with departures published from Auxerre, Besançon, Chalon-sur-Saône, Dijon, Mâcon and Montbéliard, all at the same price. An identity card or passport is required, together with a parental authorisation to leave the country, and a health record is the compulsory paperwork of the stay.

Accommodation

The group is housed at the Albergue Pere Tarrés in the Les Corts district of Barcelona, a youth hostel within the city. The operator does not publish the room arrangement for this stay.

Meal Plan

The operator does not publish a board arrangement for this stay. Please ask us and we will confirm with the organiser what is provided and what the group buys locally.

Activities & Excursions

Two components are published by the operator: cultural visits in Barcelona, and an escape game combined with an orientation activity in the city. Beyond these the day-to-day programme is built by the animation team with the group, which the operator presents as part of its educational approach rather than as an omission.

Facilities

The group stays at a youth hostel in Les Corts, a residential district of Barcelona well connected to the centre. The operator publishes no list of facilities at the hostel.

Camp Experience

A first trip abroad for many of the teenagers who take it: a week in a Mediterranean city, reached by coach with the group, with the days shaped by what the group itself decides to do. The operator's own framing is worth repeating — the point is to be unsettled a little, to have fun, and to learn by discovering.

Fédération des Aroéven

The Fédération des Aroéven is a French non-profit education federation — Fédération des Œuvres Éducatives et de Vacances de l'Éducation Nationale — recognised as an organisation of public utility. It works as a complementary educational association of the French state school system, as a youth and popular-education federation, and as a movement for pedagogical research and practice. Through its regional Aroéven associations it runs residential holiday stays for children and teenagers in France and abroad, in the mountains, in the countryside and in European cities, alongside BAFA and BAFD youth-leader training and school trips. Each stay is organised by one of the regional associations, while booking and payment for all of them are handled centrally by the federation on its own site. Groups are led by qualified animateurs and the educational project is published by the federation.

More about this camp

This urban cultural stay takes teenagers aged 13 to 17 to Barcelona, where the group is based at the Albergue Pere Tarrés in the Les Corts district. The two programme components published by the operator are cultural visits in the city and an escape game combined with an orientation activity; the rest of the week is built by the animation team together with the group.\n\nThat is deliberate rather than vague. The Aroéven states its aims plainly: a holiday that is a source of learning and discovery, and the emancipation of the young people by making them actors of their own holiday — favouring living together, and making it easy for each of them to speak up and to choose. For a teenager this means a city week with real say in it, not a fixed coach itinerary.\n\nThe stay is organised by the Aroéven of Dijon, part of the French educational network recognised as being of public utility. Travel is by touring coach, with departure points published in Auxerre, Besançon, Chalon-sur-Saône, Dijon, Mâcon and Montbéliard, all at the same price. An identity card or passport and a parental authorisation to leave the country are required. Insurance is charged on top of the quoted price.
