About

About the Course

Campers take either English or German, in two 90-minute lessons a day taught by the camp teachers in international groups. The school accepts beginner, intermediate and fluent speakers and places each camper by level at the start of the stay. Outside the language lessons the working language of the camp is English, so the language carries on through meals, sport and excursions rather than stopping at the classroom door.

What’s Included

The camp covers the language course, a bed in the boarding house, all meals, the activity and excursion programme, the entrance fees to the museums and castles visited with the group, and the transfers between Vienna airport and the campus. Every camper gets a lanyard, a branded cap, a water bottle and a bag, and finishes with a graduation certificate. Flights, visa costs, medical cover and anything bought outside the programme are not part of it.

Accommodation

Campers live in the boarding house on the AMADEUS campus, in twin or triple en-suite rooms with a personal workspace in each room. The house has lounges for games, television, reading and study, a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, table tennis and table football, secure WiFi and lockable cupboards for valuables.

Meal Plan

Four meals a day are provided in the boarding house — breakfast, a snack, lunch and dinner — cooked fresh by the in-house chefs.

Activities & Excursions

The afternoons and evenings run on sport and on the city. Residential campers paddle board and swim in the Danube, mountain bike down Bald Mountain, hike, climb indoors and try parkour, with table tennis and table football back in the house. Excursions go by bus or tramway to Vienna landmarks, cultural sites and historic locations, including full-day trips led by the camp tutors, and the evening programme runs from rooftop cinema to camp games.

Facilities

The camp uses the school own campus in the 18th district of Vienna: bright, spacious classrooms for the language lessons, recreational areas and a playground for structured and free play, and the boarding house with its lounges, kitchen and dining area. It is the same campus the school uses during the academic year.

Camp Experience

Campers come from around the world and share rooms, meals and excursions, which is where most of the English and German actually gets spoken. The activities are adjusted by age group and run by the school teachers and camp staff, and the programme is built around communication, teamwork and creativity as much as around the lessons themselves.
