Alpincenter, Obertauern

Guided skiing and snowboarding in Obertauern, one of the best-known ski areas in Austria: around 100 kilometres of groomed piste and more than 26 lifts, between 1,630 and 2,313 metres. The Tauernrunde circles the resort and the Alpincenter sits right on it. Wide, open pistes and several practice areas make the area work for beginners as well as for experienced skiers looking for variety. ruf snowguides are out on the pistes all day, giving tips and keeping an overview; compulsory three-day beginner courses and two-day advanced courses are available for both ski and snowboard.

The school offers a special discount — ask us for details. The trip price covers travel there and back, accommodation, full board, ruf snowguides with piste guiding, the lift pass, the holiday programme and guided ski and snowboard tours. Ski and snowboard courses are booked separately.

The Alpincenter stands directly on the Tauernrunde: the house run ends at the door, and it is about a minute to the lift and to the ski bus. Guests stay in twin and multi-bed rooms, each with shower and WC. The house has a sports hall with table tennis, table football and a billiard table.

Full board. The day starts with a breakfast buffet. At midday guests can ski down to the house, park their skis or board outside and eat lunch in the dining room before rejoining the circuit, or take a packed lunch with them instead - the kitchen needs a day’s notice for that. Every evening brings a different international menu.

The ruf snowguides put together a programme every day: group descents, guided tours, sports tournaments in the house sports hall, apres-ski and floodlit skiing under the stars. The New Year departure ends with a celebration bringing together up to 200 ruf guests from all the ruf houses in Obertauern.

A winter week in one of the most snow-sure resorts in the Alps, where the piste starts at the door and ends there too. Obertauern holds good conditions well into the spring thanks to its altitude.
