About the Course

Guided skiing and snowboarding in Obertauern, between 1,630 and 2,313 metres: around 100 kilometres of perfectly groomed piste and more than 26 lifts. The Tauernrunde is a continuous circuit around the resort, so the whole area can be explored without repeating the same run. Compulsory three-day beginner courses and two-day advanced courses are offered for both ski and snowboard.

What’s Included

The school offers a special discount — ask us for details. The trip price covers travel there and back, accommodation, full board, ruf snowguides with piste guiding, the lift pass, the holiday programme and guided ski and snowboard tours. Ski and snowboard courses are booked separately.

Accommodation

The Tauernhof is a hotel set above the resort, about five minutes from the house run and ten from the lift. Guests stay in twin and multi-bed rooms, each with shower and WC. Snow permitting, it is possible to clip in at the house and set off into the Tauernrunde; there is no direct run back down to the house, because the hotel sits higher up.

Meal Plan

Full board. Breakfast is a buffet; for the middle of the day guests make up their own lunch box to take onto the piste. Dinner is a three-course menu with a fresh salad selection from the buffet. Vegetarians, vegans and guests with allergies are catered for.

Activities & Excursions

The ruf snowguides put together a programme every day. Afternoons can be spent on the indoor bouldering wall or at the table tennis table, in the house cinema with its original cinema seats, or at apres-ski. Those looking to relax use the wellness area with sauna, steam bath and solarium, which carries a small charge. The New Year departure ends with a celebration shared by all ruf guests in the resort.

Facilities

A sports hall with an indoor bouldering wall, a house cinema with original cinema seats, table football, air hockey and table tennis, and a wellness area with sauna, steam bath and solarium available for a small charge. Rooms have their own shower and WC.

Camp Experience

A winter week in one of the most snow-sure resorts in the Alps, with a hotel that has as much to offer indoors as the mountain does outside. Obertauern holds good conditions well into the spring thanks to its altitude, and the ruf snowguides also show guests the best places in the resort in the evenings.
