About

About the Course

Mornings from Monday to Friday, except Wednesdays, are given to language lessons: students work on French, German or English in groups formed by level, from beginner through intermediate to advanced. Lessons are shaped around each student's strengths, so progress comes quickly and confidence builds step by step. Course materials are provided. On Friday afternoons students follow an elective they choose themselves — arts and crafts, STEM or sports.

What’s Included

The school offers a special discount — ask us for details. The camp fee covers language classes and materials, accommodation on campus, all meals and snacks, afternoon and evening activities, excursions, health insurance, housekeeping and laundry twice a week, a camp T-shirt, a welcome pack, general camp photos and a concierge service for parents. Airport transfers, the watch-making and Swiss Army Knife workshops and the weekend “Big Sunday” adventures are booked separately.

Accommodation

A residential camp on the Saint-Charles campus in Porrentruy, in the Swiss Jura. Boarders live in two separate boarding houses, each supervised by its own team of staff, who look after students around the clock. Study rooms and the school library are open for quiet work, and the gym, swimming pool and shared relaxation areas are there for the rest of the day. Housekeeping is included and laundry is done twice a week.

Meal Plan

Full board on campus: breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are all included in the camp fee, served in the school dining room.

Activities & Excursions

Afternoons bring STEM workshops, arts and crafts, sport, horse riding and water sports, alongside cultural excursions that reach into France and Germany. Midweek students explore Switzerland on glacier hikes and visits to historic villages. Evenings come alive with board games, talent shows, scavenger hunts, cultural nights and pool parties. Weekends are the big ones — paragliding, whitewater rafting, or a trip to Disneyland Paris — and students can craft their own watch or Swiss Army Knife to take home.

Facilities

The camp runs on the Saint-Charles campus in Porrentruy. Students use the school classrooms, the library and study rooms, the gym and sports facilities, the swimming pool, the dining room and shared student lounges, and they sleep in the school's two boarding houses.

Camp Experience

A summer where learning and adventure sit side by side. Mornings are for languages in small level groups; the rest of the day belongs to the Jura, the Alps and the students themselves — workshops, sport, excursions across three countries and evenings that end with friends. Students come from many nationalities, and several return the following summer.

More about this camp

Saint-Charles International School opens its campus in Porrentruy, in the Swiss Jura, for a residential summer camp built around two things: languages in the morning and discovery for the rest of the day. From Monday to Friday, except Wednesdays, students work on French, German or English in groups formed by level — beginner, intermediate or advanced — with materials provided and lessons shaped around what each student already brings. On Friday afternoons students follow an elective of their own choosing: arts and crafts, STEM or sports. Afternoons and evenings are given to STEM workshops, arts and crafts, sport, horse riding and water sports, and to cultural excursions that cross into France and Germany. Midweek the camp goes out into Switzerland on glacier hikes and visits to historic villages. Weekends bring paragliding, whitewater rafting and trips further afield, and students can craft their own watch or Swiss Army Knife as a keepsake. Evenings run on board games, talent shows, scavenger hunts, cultural nights and pool parties. Students live on campus in two supervised boarding houses with staff on hand around the clock, and use the school's library, study rooms, gym, swimming pool and student lounges. The fee covers tuition and materials, accommodation, full board, activities, excursions, health insurance, housekeeping and laundry twice a week. Sessions run in July and August and can be booked from one to four weeks.
