Rome (Hiver): a teenage discovery week in the Italian capital

The group builds its own rhythm through the city. The Colosseum and the Roman Forum for antiquity; the baroque squares and fountains; Vatican City with St Peter basilica and square, the Sistine Chapel; the Trevi Fountain and the Villa Borghese; and time on the via del Corso. The Cinecitta studios are visited as well, with the sets of well-known films and an exhibition on cinema.

The stay covers accommodation at the youth hostel, meals, the visits and the city game, and accompanied return travel from a French departure city. The base price of this card is the departure from Paris; the other cities are listed under the extras. The stay is run from a minimum of twenty-four bookings.

Meals are prepared by the group itself at the hostel, with the shopping done together as part of the stay; some meals are taken in local restaurants.

Beyond the monuments the week holds a full-scale city game run by the camp leaders, with riddles, missions and clues taking the group from spot to spot across the capital, and a ride through Rome by bicycle or rosalie along the cycle paths, between shaded parks and wide avenues.

The programme itself takes place across the city.

A city week abroad for teenagers, about twenty-four of them with one adult for every eight, in which the group cooks, shops and plans together rather than being carried through a timetable. The team includes a qualified camp director and a leader holding the French first-aid certificate.
