Paris - Comedie Musicale: a musical theatre week in the capital

The week is built around the musical The Lion King at the Theatre Mogador. Participants go behind the scenes first: the sets, the costumes, the make-up, the work of the performers and of the team that runs a large production, and how such a show is prepared. Then they watch the performance itself. Dance and African percussion workshops run alongside, so the rhythm of the show carries into the rest of the stay.

The stay covers half board at the youth hostel with dinner and breakfast, lunch boxes taken during the visits, accommodation, the backstage visit and the performance, the dance and percussion workshops, and the walks through Paris. Travel from a departure city is an option priced separately; participants can also be brought directly to the hostel. The stay is run from a minimum of fourteen bookings.

Accommodation is a youth hostel in the centre of Paris, in rooms of four to six beds.

Half board at the hostel: dinner and breakfast are taken there, and lunch is a lunch box carried on the day visits.

Beyond the theatre the week is spent walking Paris: different quarters, well-known landmarks, pauses in the gardens. Workshops in dance and African percussion pick up the rhythm of the show, and the evenings are run by the camp team.

The programme itself takes place outside: at the Theatre Mogador and across the city.

A small group of about fourteen young people in the middle of Paris, with one adult for every eight, spending the week between a working theatre and the streets of the capital. The team includes a qualified camp director and a leader holding the French first-aid certificate.
