More about this camp

The Nacel English Teen Summer Camp in Toronto is run by Nacel Educational Travel, for students aged 10 to 17, in Canada's largest city. Programme and activities. Students take 15 hours of interactive English classes per week, Monday to Friday, with a daily activity and excursion programme using Toronto. Toronto is an English-speaking city, so students practise the language outside lessons as well as in class. Accommodation and meals. Students stay in homestay with carefully selected Canadian host families, screened by the programme's Homestay Coordinator. Homestay adds everyday English practice and family life, but means daily travel to the school and evenings with the family rather than under school supervision. The stated screening process is a reassurance; families should still confirm typical travel times and meal arrangements, especially for a younger child of 10 or 11. Ages, dates and duration. The camp accepts students aged 10 to 17. Five arrival dates are listed from mid-July. Location and travel. Toronto is in Ontario, eastern Canada, served by Toronto Pearson Airport with wide connections. Families travelling from outside Canada should check entry requirements well in advance, as these are not covered here. Who the programme may suit. This camp may suit families wanting an English-speaking Canadian city with genuine homestay immersion, for a child or teenager aged 10 to 17. The screened host families and the English-speaking environment are the draw. It may suit less well families wanting on-site residential supervision — for that, several residential options exist in this catalogue — and parents of a younger child should confirm the homestay travel and supervision arrangements.
