CISS at Trinity College

The programme offers a variety of course options to suit different student goals and proficiency levels. General English provides 20 hours of language lessons per week, helping students improve their fluency by encouraging natural communication through interactive and engaging lessons and activities. Students learn and practise their communication skills while focusing on pronunciation and becoming more confident English speakers. All levels are accepted, with a placement test on the first day.

Future Entrepreneurs offers 20 hours of lessons per week for students with intermediate to advanced English (IELTS 4.0+), designed to empower students to think creatively and adopt an entrepreneurial mindset. Lessons develop critical thinking, innovative decision-making, problem-solving, and practical business skills. Academic & Career Prep (ACP) offers 20 hours of lessons per week for students aged 16 to 18 with high intermediate to advanced English (IELTS 5.0+), preparing them for the challenges of post-secondary studies and professional life through self-reflection, career exploration, and mindfulness sessions. The Future-Ready Series offers 25 hours of lessons per week for students with high intermediate to advanced English (IELTS 5.0+), with courses in Financial Literacy, Careers in Medicine, AI & Machine Learning with Python, Game Design with Unreal, and Cyber Defender: Ethical Hacking.

The programme package includes tuition (20-25 hours per week depending on the course), accommodation in university dormitories, three meals daily (brunch and dinner on Sundays), full WiFi on campus, 1 full-day and 3 half-day excursions per week, afternoon and evening activities, emergency medical insurance, full supervision, arrival and departure transfers, and a CISS t-shirt and certificate of completion. Registration fees may apply. Extra fees include extra night, extra transfer, late arrival/early departure fee, Unaccompanied Minor service, and custodianship fee for visa purposes. Optional activities are offered once or twice per week with additional costs. All fees are in Canadian dollars.

Students stay in university residence accommodation at Trinity College, part of the University of Toronto. The majority of rooms available are single, but some students may share a double room with another student attending the programme. Students are separated within the residence by gender. Each room has 1 or 2 individual beds, desks, chairs, dressers, and/or wardrobes. All bed linens are provided, along with a bath towel. Shared washrooms and shower facilities are located on every floor. Laundry machines are conveniently located within the residences and are card-operated, with laundry detergent provided. Safety is a priority, with staff living in the same residence and providing full supervision.

Three delicious meals are provided daily from Monday to Saturday, with a relaxed brunch and dinner on Sunday to allow time for students to sleep in. All meals are provided in a modern cafeteria which features various stations offering a wide choice of main courses. Lunch and dinner are complemented by a full salad bar, dessert offerings, and unlimited drinks. All students eat together in the university dining hall that is decorated with the history of the school. Meals are cooked on-site by professional staff and meet rigid nutritious standards.

Students always have something to do beyond their course of study. The programme includes 1 full-day excursion and 3 half-day excursions per week. Full-day excursions may include Canada's Wonderland, Niagara Falls (with boat tour), Treetop Trekking, or Wye Marsh Canadiana. Half-day excursions may include the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), Blue Jays Baseball, Casa Loma, CN Tower, Disco Boat Cruise, Distillery District, High Park, Toronto Islands, Toronto Zoo, Ripley's Aquarium, and the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). Afternoon and evening activities include Amazing Race, board games, capture the flag, casino night, crazy Olympics, dances/discos, fashion show, karaoke, neighbourhood tours, on-campus sports, photo scavenger hunt, and yoga. Students aged 14+ may be allowed to sign-out in groups of 3 or more for independent shopping and sightseeing. Optional activities with additional costs include arcade, movies, and outlet malls.

Trinity College offers one of the most beautiful campuses in Toronto, with large classrooms, a modern dining hall and cafeteria, a beautiful garden courtyard known as "The Quad," air-conditioned student lounges, and full WiFi access. The campus is located in the heart of downtown Toronto, just a short walk from the famous Yorkville neighbourhood, and close to Yonge Street, coffee shops, unique stores, and many exciting attractions. An athletic centre is within walking distance. Coffee houses, shops, boutiques, and shopping centres surround the campus. Medical centres and hospitals are within 1 km of the campus. The campus offers a welcoming, clean, and safe environment with comfortable lounges perfect for relaxing or studying.
