Multi-Activity Summer Camp in the Franches-Montagnes

There are no lessons here. The week is built from excursions, workshops and cooking, and the children are split into two age groups, 10 to 13 and 14 to 17, with the programme pitched accordingly.

The weekly price covers accommodation, homemade full board with snacks, the weekly Europa-Park trip, the other excursions with transport, the cooking classes and workshops, the barbecue evening and round-the-clock care. The school offers a special discount — ask us for details. Room upgrades, accompanied train travel and the airport transfer are booked separately.

Participants stay at the camp house at Les Mottes, near Montfaucon in the Franches-Montagnes. A place in a shared 10-bed room is included; 5-bed and 2-bed rooms are available as paid upgrades.

Homemade full board with snacks, prepared on site. Part of the programme is cooking: the children work in small groups on starters and desserts, so some of what reaches the table they made themselves.

Every week includes a trip to Europa-Park. Around it come excursions to the Camille Bloch chocolate factory, the Chasseral, the Maison de la Tête de Moine cheese dairy and swimming at the Etang de la Gruère or Lake Biel. On site there are co-living and cooking classes, a barbecue evening every week, and workshops in sport, art and culture — and the children get a say in which ones run.

The camp house stands at Les Mottes, in the open plateau country of the Franches-Montagnes in the canton of Jura, with the camp’s own kitchen on site.

This is Filolo’s camp for children who want an international summer camp without a language course attached. It runs at a site in the Franches-Montagnes rather than at the school’s usual base above Lake Geneva, and the concept is new: the mix of nationalities of a language camp, with the days given over to excursions and workshops instead of classes. Arrival and departure are on Sunday and Saturday.
