An English-language summer camp for children and teenagers aged 9 to 14 on the shore of Lake Wolfgang in St. Gilgen, near Salzburg. Participants stay at a lakeside youth guest house in four- to six-bed rooms with private bathrooms and full board, take three hours of English a day in level-based groups with native-speaker instructors, and spend afternoons and evenings on a supervised sports, water and activity programme run entirely in English. A full-day excursion is included each week, and Fit-for-School weeks at the end of the summer add extra English tuition to prepare for the school year.

About
About the Course
English is taught for three hours each morning in groups formed by level, led by native-speaker instructors from England, Ireland, the USA and Australia. The approach is built on interaction and practical use of the language rather than front-of-class teaching. The language does not stop at the classroom door: the afternoon and evening programme is run in English too, so campers keep using what they have just learned. Fit-for-School weeks at the end of the summer add further English tuition aimed at the coming school year.
What’s Included
The package covers six nights at the lakeside youth guest house with full board, English tuition with native-speaker instructors, the full leisure and evening programme in English, the cost of the weekly excursion including the cable car ride, round-the-clock supervision by an experienced team, a camp certificate, all teaching and activity materials, and an inspire welcome pack.
Accommodation
Campers stay at the youth guest house in St. Gilgen, directly on Lake Wolfgang and next to the public lakeside bathing area. Rooms sleep four to six and each has its own bathroom with shower and WC. The team is on site around the clock.
Meal Plan
Residential campers receive full board across their stay at the guest house. Special diets, allergies and other dietary requirements are recorded on the emergency card that parents complete before the camp begins, so the team can plan meals accordingly.
Activities & Excursions
Afternoons are given over to sport and time on the water: the public bathing area sits directly opposite the guest house and the programme makes full use of the lake. One full-day excursion is included each week, with the destination depending on the weather and availability. Evenings have their own programme, from a talent and fashion event to an evening walk and the camp disco. A sailing course, tubing and banana-boat sessions and a hip-hop workshop can be booked in addition.
Facilities
The camp base is the youth guest house on the shore of Lake Wolfgang, with the public bathing area next door for swimming and water activities. Rooms have private bathrooms with shower and WC, and the English workshops and group programme run from the house itself.
Camp Experience
The camp suits children and teenagers aged nine to fourteen who want to use English rather than sit and study it. Groups are formed by level and age, so quieter beginners and more confident speakers each work at the right pace. Because the language runs through the whole day, campers lose their inhibitions about speaking. An experienced team supervises the group around the clock, and parents complete an emergency card in advance covering diets, allergies, medication and emergency contact numbers.

English Camp: Fit for School
15 Lessons · 9–14 yrs · All levelsPrice from
The Fit-for-School variant of the English camp programme, run in the weeks at the end of the summer. It follows the same daily structure of English in level-based groups with native-speaker instructors, and adds three further hours of English across the week focused on preparing for the coming school year through targeted exercises, revision and an introduction to upcoming topics. The weekly full-day excursion is not part of the Fit-for-School week.
Three hours of English a day in level-based groups with native-speaker instructors; the school does not publish a number of teaching units per week.
English is used in every part of the day, not only in the workshops, so that children practise the language in real situations and lose their inhibitions about speaking.
