About

About the Course

Maths in the morning, every weekday, in classes of about eight students. The camp takes all levels and works at the pace each child needs — closing gaps, catching up, or preparing for an exam. Lessons, workshops, excursions and the evening programme are linked by theme wherever possible, so that what is learned in class turns up again outside it.

What’s Included

The price covers tuition, course materials, accommodation in the camp house, full board and the whole afternoon and evening programme. The optional workshops, equipment and services listed under extras are booked separately.

Accommodation

Participants live in the camp house in Braunwald, supervised by the camp team around the clock. Rooms sleep four to six, with a shared or a private bathroom, and two-bed rooms with a private bathroom are also available. Parents who wish to come along can stay in a family room at the same house.

Meal Plan

Full board, three meals a day from the camp’s own kitchen team, with fruit and snacks between meals. Special diets — gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan, halal and others — are arranged in advance as a paid extra.

Activities & Excursions

Afternoons and evenings run on workshops and sport. Media workshops make a short film, a camp newspaper or photographs; art workshops cover theatre, graffiti, clay, mask-making, music, dance and cooking; sport covers a camp olympics, football, tennis, volleyball, hiking and swimming. Workshops are run in German, French or English depending on the staff. Excursions go out several times a week.

Facilities

The camp house provides WiFi, communal rooms for lessons and workshops, and a dining room where the whole camp eats together. Braunwald itself is car-free and reached by funicular, which is what makes the village usable as a camp: children move around it on foot. Every participant receives a certificate of attendance.

Camp Experience

A car-free village on a mountain terrace, a three-language team and children arriving from several countries. Arrival is on Sunday; departure is on Saturday, or on Sunday for children travelling with an airport transfer. Parents can come along and stay at the same house, joining the excursions and the evening programme with the children if they want to.

More about this camp

The maths camp in Braunwald is holiday tutoring that does not feel like more school. Children aged 10 to 15 spend weekday mornings in maths classes of about eight students, working at their own level, and the rest of the day in workshops, sport and excursions — media, art, theatre, football, hiking, swimming, run in German, French or English depending on the staff. Participants live in the camp house under supervision around the clock, on full board cooked by the camp kitchen team. Braunwald is car-free and reached by funicular, so the children move around the village on foot. Stays run from one week upwards, arrival on Sunday. Parents who want to come along can stay at the same house in a family room. Optional workshops — coding, theatre, art — and services such as laundry, bed linen and airport check-in assistance are booked alongside the stay.
