The course is for students aged 16 and over and is open to all levels from beginner A1. A specific vocabulary sheet is given before the first cooking class so that students of all levels can take part.
The programme combines 20 French lessons with 8 cooking lessons per week, each lesson lasting 45 minutes. French classes run from 09:00 to 12:15, and cooking sessions take place on two afternoons from 18:00 to 21:00, subject to change.
French classes have 5 to 8 students, with a maximum of 10. For cooking, students are welcomed in groups of around 12 and cook in teams of 2 or 3 at a workstation, allowing them to practise as much as possible.
The French course covers the four CEFR competences — reading, writing, listening and speaking — and works on grammar, conjugation, vocabulary, pronunciation and French culture and civilisation.
Students prepare a starter, a main course and a dessert using fresh quality products, mainly from the Arceaux market, in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The recipes are mainly inspired by French cuisine, and the prepared dishes are eaten together after the class. The classes are designed for all levels and help students improve their skills.
ILA offers carefully selected host families for real immersion in French daily life, comfortable student residences where students meet people from around the world, and an aparthotel option for independent accommodation.
