More about this camp

Embassy Summer Valencia runs in the coastal city of Valencia, Spain, based at the Yugo Valencia Arc residence. It accepts students aged 11 to 18. Language — read this first. This is a Spanish immersion programme. Families arriving at this page expecting an English course should look elsewhere in the catalogue: the teaching here is Spanish, in Spain, and the immersion is into Spanish language and life. It is a good option for a student learning Spanish, and the wrong one for a student who needs English. Programme and activities. The programme combines Spanish learning with the culture and setting of Valencia — a Mediterranean city with beaches, a historic centre and modern architecture. The provider frames it as a mix of sun, culture and language. Accommodation. Students stay in the brand-new Yugo Valencia Arc residence, in modern single rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Single ensuite rooms in a new residence are a comfortable standard. A managed student residence is not a school boarding house, so families should ask what supervision applies outside teaching hours — particularly relevant given the age range starts at 11. Ages, dates and duration. The centre accepts students aged 11 to 18. That span reaches from primary-school age through to adulthood; families should ask specifically how an 11 or 12-year-old is grouped and supervised relative to the oldest students. One session is currently listed, beginning at the end of June. Location and travel. Valencia is on Spain's Mediterranean coast, served by Valencia Airport with connections across Europe. Transfer arrangements are not published and should be confirmed. Who the programme may suit. This camp may suit students learning Spanish who want immersion in a coastal city rather than the capital, and families comfortable with a modern student-residence setting. The single ensuite rooms suit students who value privacy. It does not suit anyone looking for English tuition, and families with a younger child should settle the supervision question before booking.
