About

About the Course

The language programme focuses on communication skills and is delivered by qualified, friendly teachers. It consists of 20 lessons per week, each lasting 45 minutes, held in spacious and well-equipped classrooms. Class sizes are kept to approximately 17 students to ensure personalised attention. The curriculum is interactive, with a strong emphasis on practical English use. On arrival, students take a placement test to be assigned to a class suitable for their level, and progress is monitored throughout their stay, with the flexibility to change classes if needed.

What’s Included

The base package includes English lessons, full-board accommodation on campus (shared rooms), a comprehensive activity and excursion programme (both on-site and off-site), course materials, an end-of-course certificate, and airport transfers on designated days. Optional activities such as diving, trips to Gozo, or visits to Popeye Village are available for an extra fee. There is a mandatory, refundable damage deposit of €30 payable on arrival. Travel and medical insurance is not included but can be purchased through the organisers.

Accommodation

Students live on-site in the purpose-built MCS campus, which offers twin, triple, and quadruple rooms with shared bathrooms (2-5 students per bathroom). Rooms are equipped with air conditioning, beds with linens, a desk, chair, wardrobe, and Wi-Fi. The campus features 24/7 security, CCTV, a night supervisor, communal kitchens with TV, outdoor swimming pool, sports facilities, laundry rooms, and social lounges. It is Malta's only live-in campus, ensuring a convenient, safe, and community-focused living environment.

Meal Plan

Full board accommodation is provided. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served daily in the campus canteen, with packed lunches on excursion days. The meals offer a variety of choices, including vegetarian options and dishes without pork. The programme caters to most dietary needs, allergies, and religious requirements if notified in advance. Students with special dietary needs receive individually prepared meal boxes to avoid cross-contamination.

Activities & Excursions

The activity programme is a central part of the experience, designed for fun, cultural immersion, and socialising. It includes a mix of sports (football, volleyball, swimming, athletics), beach days, cultural excursions to historic sites like Valletta, Mdina, and Comino's Blue Lagoon, and visits to a waterpark. On-site evening activities range from karaoke and talent shows to sports festivals and movie nights. The schedule ensures a balance between exploration, physical activity, and creative social events.

Facilities

The campus boasts extensive on-site facilities: modern classrooms, an outdoor swimming pool, a full athletics track, football pitches, a multi-sport pavilion, a gymnastics hall, social lounges with games (ping pong, foosball), laundry rooms, and free Wi-Fi. For activities, the programme utilises Malta's excellent external resources, including sandy and rocky beaches, historical landmarks, a science centre, and entertainment complexes like the waterpark.

More about this camp

This Embassy Summer centre operates at the Mediterranean College of Sport at Birkirkara in Malta. It accepts students aged 12 to 17. Programme and activities. The programme combines English language learning with sport, adventure and Mediterranean culture. What distinguishes it from a general English camp with recreational games is the venue: a college built specifically for sport, so the facilities are the reason the centre exists rather than an afterthought. Malta is also an English-speaking country, which means students encounter the language outside lessons as well as in them. Accommodation. Students live on site on the purpose-built MCS campus, in twin, triple and quadruple rooms with shared bathrooms used by two to five students. This is more communal than the single en-suite rooms Embassy offers at several of its UK university centres — worth knowing if your child would find a quad room difficult, and equally worth knowing if you want them in a sociable arrangement rather than alone. Ages, dates and duration. The centre accepts students aged 12 to 17. Unlike most Embassy centres, the upper limit stops at school-leaving age rather than 18, so the peer group is entirely school-age. One session is currently listed, beginning in late June; families should confirm the full calendar with the provider. Location and travel. Birkirkara is in the centre of Malta, close to everything on the island. Malta International Airport is around twenty minutes away. Transfer arrangements are not stated as included and should be confirmed. Who the programme may suit. This camp may suit teenagers who take a sport seriously and want proper facilities rather than a token programme, and families who like the idea of an English-speaking Mediterranean destination. The all-school-age band suits parents wary of mixed adult groups. Families who want a private room or en-suite bathroom should compare Embassy's UK university centres, several of which offer single en-suite as standard.
