Camp Experience

The camp’s motto is “each at their own pace”: from the complete beginner to the confident skier, every child finds their place, and the team lets them decide how much of the day they want to spend on the snow. Albiez-Montrond is a small mountain village below the Aiguilles d’Arves and their well-known “cat’s head” peak, a family resort above the Maurienne valley with 45 km of pistes for all levels and fourteen lifts, five of them chairlifts.

More about this camp

Albiez-Montrond is a small mountain village in Savoie, below the Aiguilles d’Arves and above the Maurienne valley, with 45 km of pistes suited to every level and fourteen lifts, five of them chairlifts. CESL, a French non-profit association running colonies de vacances, brings 50 children aged 6 to 13 here for an eight-day residential camp in two age groups, with one group leader for every seven participants. The camp’s principle is that each child skis at their own pace. Six days are spent on the snow with a helmet for everyone; two hours a day are led by instructors of the French Ski School (ESF), the rest is skied with the animation team, and children decide how long they want to stay out. Star tests are taken and awarded at the end of the week. Sledging and snow games run without limit, and there is an organised activity every evening. The group stays in a well-kept house with bedrooms of four to nine beds, each with its own shower room and toilet, and several common rooms.
