What’s Included

An eight-day residential stay for children and teenagers aged 8 to 15, run by CESL. Travel is by train and then coach. The camp takes 55 children with one group leader for every seven participants.

The gondolas serving the Avoriaz–Morzine ski area are 200 metres from the chalet. Sandrine and Willy, the chalet owners, cook for the group.

Activities & Excursions

Alpine skiing over five days; town walks and outings; snow games and sledging; and an organised evening activity every day.

Facilities

Camp Experience

Morzine sits halfway between Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva and has kept its Savoyard character, a village among forests and summits. From the chalet the group reaches one of the best-known ski areas in France on foot, which is what the organiser built the camp around.

Five days of alpine skiing on the Morzine–Les Gets pistes with a helmet for every participant. Each ski day includes two hours of tuition from instructors of the French Ski School (ESF); the rest of the day is spent skiing with the animation team. Star tests are taken and awarded at the end of the stay. The programme also includes town walks, outings, snow games and sledging, and an evening activity every day.

The school publishes instruction in hours, not in a weekly lesson count: two hours of ski tuition a day from qualified instructors of the ESF, the French ski school, across the five ski days, with the remaining time on snow supervised by the camp animation team. Because the figure published is sport hours rather than lessons, the weekly lesson count is recorded as none. Levels are assessed and star badges awarded at the end of the stay.

Alpine skiing on the Morzine-Les Gets domain, with a helmet for every participant and a lift pass for the whole area. Daily tuition is given by ESF instructors and levels are assessed at the end of the stay. Off the pistes the programme includes sledging, snow games, outings in the village and an evening activity every night.
