Accent Français runs French courses for teenagers in the centre of Montpellier — a young, largely pedestrian university city ten minutes from Mediterranean beaches. Teens study at the school on rue de Verdun and live with carefully vetted French host families, the only accommodation permitted for minors, always on half or full board. There are two teen programmes. The all-inclusive Junior & Teens Summer Pack combines twenty lessons a week with a supervised activity and excursion programme and host family full board, with weekday lunches at partner restaurants; it runs through the summer months with any Monday start. The year-round Juniors Standard Course is twenty-four lessons a week — twenty in a group plus four of tutoring and workshop — starting every Monday all year, with a short winter closure and French bank holidays, when an excursion replaces classes. Classes are capped at fifteen and start from complete beginner level, with set start dates for absolute beginners. There are weekly evaluations, a final test and a level certificate; the TCF exam is optional. French with High School Diploma preparation is also offered. Accommodation for the standard course is booked separately from the tuition. Best for motivated older teens who want real language immersion in a lively student city — either a fully organised summer package or flexible year-round study — rather than a fenced-campus junior camp. Parents should check availability, host family details and the board basis, and the supervision arrangements outside class: this is a city language school with free time, not a closed campus.

About

About the Course

Two teen programmes. The all-inclusive Junior & Teens Summer Pack: twenty lessons a week plus a supervised activity and excursion programme and host family full board, available through the summer months with any Monday start. The year-round Juniors Standard Course: twenty-four lessons a week — twenty in a group plus four of tutoring and workshop — every Monday all year. Lessons run forty-five minutes, classes are capped at fifteen, and entry starts from complete beginner, with set start dates for absolute beginners. Weekly evaluations, a final test and a level certificate; the TCF exam is optional. French with High School Diploma preparation is also offered.

What’s Included

The Summer Pack is all-inclusive: courses, activities, excursions and host family full board. The Standard Course covers tuition only — accommodation is booked separately. A registration fee applies per booking; it is listed under extras with the current amount. The school closes on French bank holidays, when an excursion is offered instead, and for a short break over the winter holidays.

Accommodation

For safety, minor students may only stay with French host families, on half or full board. Families are selected on availability, comfort and location under a quality charter, with control visits and end-of-stay questionnaires; most are between a ten-minute walk and a forty-minute tram ride from the school. Hosts accompany students to school on the first day. For students not on the all-inclusive pack, host family accommodation is booked separately — single or shared room, half board — and both options are listed under extras with their current weekly rates.

Meal Plan

Summer Pack: full board — breakfast and dinner with the host family, weekday lunches at partner restaurants, weekend lunches with the family. Standard course: half or full board with the host family. Special diets — halal, kosher, gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan — are available on full board as a paid supplement, listed under extras.

Activities & Excursions

Supervised programme included in the Summer Pack and available à la carte on other courses: afternoon and evening activities and excursions run by qualified counsellors — beach outings, cultural visits and regional excursions from a city ten minutes from Mediterranean beaches.

Facilities

City-centre school on rue de Verdun, by the Place de la Comédie: modern classrooms in a pedestrian district with excellent public transport; shops and the beach within easy reach.

Camp Experience

A long-established Montpellier school for international students, with native graduate teachers experienced in teaching juniors, a structured learning path — written test before arrival, oral test on site, weekly skill evaluations — and a signed parental liability agreement required for all minors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Minors may only stay in vetted host families on half or full board, controlled through a quality charter, inspection visits and student questionnaires. Hosts walk students to school on day one, teachers and counsellors supervise all activities and excursions, and a signed parental liability agreement is mandatory before a minor can join class. Note this is a city language school with free time, not a closed campus.

More about this camp

Accent Français runs its Teens & Juniors programme from its school at 2 rue de Verdun in the centre of Montpellier, southern France. Montpellier is a largely pedestrian university city, about ten minutes from Mediterranean beaches, which shapes both the atmosphere and the activity programme. Programme and activities. The all-inclusive Junior & Teens Summer Pack combines 20 lessons per week with a supervised activity and excursion programme. A Juniors Standard Course with 24 lessons per week is also listed for students who want more classroom time. Because the school sits in the city centre rather than on a closed campus, activities make use of the city itself and the nearby coast. Accommodation and meals. Students stay with French host families. This is not one option among several: the school states that minors may only be accommodated with host families, always on half or full board, for safety reasons. Families are selected against a quality charter covering availability, comfort and location, with control visits and end-of-stay questionnaires. Most are between a ten-minute walk and around forty minutes by public transport from the school. On the all-inclusive pack, weekday lunches are taken at partner restaurants. Ages, dates and duration. This listing covers students aged 16 to 17. The school itself welcomes 16 to 18-year-olds, and can take 15-year-olds who turn 16 within the year by prior arrangement — families in that position should raise it with the school before booking rather than assuming eligibility. The all-inclusive pack is published at EUR 890 per week. Summer arrival dates run through July and August; the dates currently open appear in the session list on this page. Location and travel. Montpellier is in the Occitanie region of southern France, served by Montpellier-Méditerranée airport and by TGV rail. Transfer arrangements are not published as part of the standard package and should be requested from the school. Who the programme may suit. This course may suit older teenagers who are reasonably independent, since city-centre study with host-family accommodation involves daily travel rather than living where you study. It may particularly suit families who see living with a French family as the point of the trip. Families wanting round-the-clock campus supervision should look at residential programmes instead, as that format is not offered here.
