The English Language Centre (ELC)

The English Language Centre is an English language school founded in Brighton in 1962 and based ever since in the building at 33 Palmeira Mansions, Palmeira Square. It is registered in England as a charity and teaches in three centres in the south and north west of England: Brighton & Hove, Chester — opened in 1976 and the only year round English language school in the city — and Eastbourne, a school founded in 1936 that merged with ELC in 2010. Alongside its year round courses for adults, ELC runs summer courses for teenagers, with host family accommodation arranged by the school and an activity and excursion programme run by its own staff.
