About
About the Course
The programme includes no lessons. Days are spent visiting the districts and sites the operator lists for the stay, travelling by metro and train passes. A qualified director and youth leaders stay with the group throughout, at a ratio of one adult for every eight participants.
What’s Included
The price covers scheduled return flights from Paris, full board, accommodation, local transport, the activities listed on the operator's trip sheet, full supervision, repatriation and personal accident insurance, and administrative and educational follow-up before and after the stay. Personal spending, visa fees, vaccinations and activities that are not included.
Accommodation
The group sleeps in a youth hostel in Tokyo, in dormitories of four to eight beds. Showers and toilets are shared and sit outside the rooms, and there is a communal kitchen. The hostel is a five-minute walk from the train and metro station, with a supermarket nearby.
Meal Plan
Full board is part of the package. Breakfast is taken at the hostel, lunch is a picnic while the group is out in the city, and dinner is eaten in snack bars or small restaurants.
Activities & Excursions
Asakusa and the Senso-Ji buddhist temple; Akihabara, home of manga, video games and electronics, with the museum of emerging science and innovation; the youth districts of Shibuya and Harajuku; Odaiba on Tokyo Bay, its museums, beaches and viewpoints; Omotesando; Ueno park with its cherry-tree avenue, museums and zoo; a traditional onsen bath; the 360-degree observatory of the Tokyo metropolitan government building in Shinjuku; and an immersive digital experience at TeamLab Planets.
Facilities
The stay is city-based. The hostel is the group's base — dormitories, shared bathrooms and a communal kitchen — and the days are spent out in Tokyo on public transport. No campus, classrooms or sports facilities form part of this programme.
Camp Experience
A first trip to Japan for teenagers who want to see the city they already know from manga, anime and video games. Groups run from twelve to twenty-four participants with one adult for every eight of them, and the pace follows districts and street life rather than a museum checklist.
