About

About the Course

The ski and snowboard course is for beginners and is taught by experienced instructors. The group starts on the lower, German-side slopes at the Winkelmoosalm and moves up into the wider Steinplatte ski area as it finds its feet. A free ski bus leaves from the door of the apartment complex and a briefing on the ski area is part of the price. The operator does not publish the number of instruction sessions.

What’s Included

The price covers six nights in the operator’s apartment complex, full board, round-the-clock supervision and travel leadership, return travel by modern coach from Germany with one night drive on the way back, the free ski bus and the ski-area briefing, the beginners’ ski and snowboard course, free use of the indoor pool and the table tennis room, a table tennis tournament, an excursion to the wave and adventure pool in Ruhpolding with entrance included, and insolvency insurance. The ski pass and equipment hire are not included and are booked on site; they are listed under the paid extras.

Accommodation

Participants stay in the operator’s own apartment complex on the edge of Inzell, in the Chiemgau Alps. Apartments take two to five people and have a shower and WC, a kitchenette, a seating corner, a TV and a balcony or terrace; a two-person apartment can be booked for a small supplement, for which the operator does not publish a figure. The ski hire shop, the swimming park, the shops, a pizzeria and the ski bus stop are a few minutes away on foot.

Meal Plan

Full board is included: a generous breakfast with fresh rolls, cold cuts, chocolate spread and cereals, lunch packs the participants make up themselves, and a warm evening meal. The operator asks for special dietary requirements at the time of booking and states that vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose-free, fructose-free and pork-free catering is possible. The camp is not suitable for participants with a peanut allergy or on a protein-free diet.

Activities & Excursions

Skiing and snowboarding for beginners is the core of the week, on the Winkelmoosalm and in the Steinplatte ski area. Off the slopes the complex has an indoor pool that participants use free of charge, a billiards and table tennis room and air hockey, and the week includes a table tennis tournament and an excursion to the wave and adventure pool in Ruhpolding with the entrance included.

Facilities

The apartment complex has its own indoor pool, free to participants, a billiards and table tennis room, air hockey and a lounge for card games and sitting together. Each apartment has a kitchenette and a balcony or terrace.

Camp Experience

Inzell is a climatic spa town on the edge of the Chiemgau Alps, and the camp sits at the edge of it with the mountains directly behind. The Steinplatte ski area spreads across the German and Austrian sides of the border and takes beginners and confident skiers alike; the lower Winkelmoosalm is where the course starts. Supervision is round the clock at one leader to ten participants, with a named person each participant can turn to, which is a closer ratio than on the operator’s trips for older teenagers. Evenings are spent in the lounge, at the pool or around the billiards and table tennis tables. The operator states that the camp is not suitable for participants with limited mobility.
