A fishing camp for ten- to fifteen-year-olds on the Mecklenburg Lake District, pitched on the unlandscaped campsite of the Kanustation Mirow right on the water. Campers sleep two to an igloo tent, with a group tent as the common room and a central sanitary block with washrooms, individual shower cabins, a washing machine and a dryer. The fishing permit is part of the package, and the week is built around it: whole days on the bank, a trip out in the fishing punt, and a competition for the biggest catch. The camp has its own bathing beach and ground for beach volleyball, football, table tennis, beachminton and giant chess. The catch is cooked at the camp, and the last evening is a barbecue and a fish supper.

About

About the Course

There are no lessons on this programme. The Angelcamp is a fishing week for ten- to fifteen-year-olds based in a tent camp on the shore of the Mecklenburg Lake District. Whole days are set aside for fishing from the bank and from the camp's punt, and the fishing permit is part of the package.

What’s Included

The package covers the stay in the tent camp, catering with all food on site or bought fresh each day, the supervised programme, the fishing permit, a trip out in the fishing punt, a competition for the biggest catch, days given over entirely to fishing, and a barbecue with a fish supper on the final evening. Coach travel from the departure points is offered, and travelling independently is also possible.

Accommodation

The camp stands on the unlandscaped campsite of the Kanustation Mirow, directly on the lake. Campers sleep two to an igloo tent, in tents of various sizes and types, with a large group tent as the common room. The sanitary block is central to the site and has washrooms, individual shower cabins, a washing machine and a dryer.

Meal Plan

Meals are prepared at the camp in a fully equipped kitchen with a group tent, a fire bowl and a tripod. All the ingredients are on site or bought fresh each day, and the fish the campers catch are cooked and eaten at the camp.

Activities & Excursions

Fishing sets the rhythm of the week: days on the bank, a trip out in the fishing punt, and a competition for the biggest catch. The campsite has its own bathing beach, and there is ground for beach volleyball, football, table tennis, beachminton and giant chess. The last evening is a barbecue and a fish supper cooked from the week's catch.

Facilities

An unlandscaped campsite at the Kanustation Mirow on the shore of the Mecklenburg Lake District. The camp has igloo sleeping tents, a group tent used as the common room, a fully equipped kitchen with a fire bowl and tripod, and a central sanitary block with washrooms, individual shower cabins, a washing machine and a dryer. There is a bathing beach of the camp's own and open ground for beach volleyball, football, table tennis, beachminton and giant chess.

Camp Experience

A camp for young anglers, pitched on the water rather than near it, where the day's catch becomes the evening meal. Trained counsellors are on hand around the clock at a ratio of one to ten with a fixed key worker for each group, and campers share in the running of the camp.

A fishing week for ten- to fifteen-year-olds on the Mecklenburg Lake District. There are no lessons: campers fish from the bank and from the camp's fishing punt, take part in a catch competition, and spend the rest of the time on the bathing beach and the sports ground. The fishing permit is included in the package.

There are no lessons. Angling instructors show participants how to identify fish species, tell coarse fish from predatory fish, choose a fishing spot and set up a rod, and a fishing licence for the whole area is included for the week. The days follow a published example plan with fishing from the jetty, the bank or a boat, angling competitions, a 24-hour or night fishing session, boat trips and a closing barbecue where the group cooks its catch. Participants bring their own fishing equipment.

Built for young anglers. Whole days are set aside for fishing, the catch is cooked at the camp, and the week closes with a barbecue and a fish supper.

More about this camp

The Angelcamp is pitched on the unlandscaped campsite of the Kanustation Mirow, directly on the water of the Mecklenburg Lake District, so the fishing starts at the edge of the camp. The fishing permit is part of the package rather than something families arrange separately. Whole days are given over to the rods, there is a trip out in the camp's fishing punt, and a competition runs through the week for the biggest fish. Campers sleep two to an igloo tent, in tents of various sizes, with a large group tent serving as the common room. The sanitary block sits centrally and is better equipped than most camp sites of this kind: washrooms, individual shower cabins, a washing machine and a dryer. Meals are cooked at the camp in a fully fitted kitchen with a fire bowl and tripod, with all the food on site or bought in fresh each day — and the fish the campers catch are cleaned and cooked there too. When the rods are down there is a bathing beach of the camp's own and open ground for beach volleyball, football, table tennis, beachminton and giant chess. The week closes with a barbecue and a fish supper made from the catch. Trained counsellors are present around the clock at a ratio of one to ten, with a fixed key worker for each group. Coach travel from the departure points is offered so campers meet on the way, and travelling independently is also possible.
