Procamp French and Horse Riding Camp, Saignelegier

Twenty French lessons a week, designed and supervised by a teacher training institute (Haute Ecole Pedagogique). Classes are intensive, taught in the study centre classrooms and make use of current classroom technology. Beginner, intermediate and advanced levels are accepted. Course materials, a student card, an assessment and a certificate are part of the course.

The price covers the French course and its materials, the student card, full board accommodation, eight hours of horse riding, one excursion, and the assessment and certificate. Procamp charges a one-off enrolment fee on top, and transfers from the Swiss stations and airports are priced separately per trip.

Students stay at the leisure centre in Saignelegier in three-bed rooms, with full board provided at the study centre.

Eight hours of horse riding a week on horses bred and raised in the Franches-Montagnes, ridden in an atmosphere of care and respect for the animals, plus one excursion in the region. Procamp also runs nature discovery programmes aimed at encouraging respect for the natural environment.

The Saignelegier study centre has classrooms fitted with current teaching technology and a dining room where meals are served, and it stands close to a swimming pool, a sports centre, football pitches and basketball courts.

Students arrive on Sunday between three and five in the afternoon and leave on Saturday between ten and midday. Mornings are given to the French course; horse riding and the excursion fill the rest of the week. The camp sits in the Franches-Montagnes, the horse country of the Swiss Jura, and the sporting and artistic activities are run with partner organisations experienced in working with children and teenagers.
