The program is held at the Lycée Notre-Dame de Sion, a top private school in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, adjacent to the Luxembourg Gardens. The Louvre, the Panthéon, the Latin Quarter, and many other world-famous sites are within walking distance.
Students choose a Major and a Minor, taught in French or in English, from academic and creative options such as Art History, The Business of Luxury, Creative Writing: Writing Paris, Culture and Cuisine, Fashion, French Language: Conversation and Composition, International Relations, Medicine, Photography, Psychology, and Studio Art. Students with two or more years of French can opt for immersion courses and may also choose the Immersion section in the residence.
The day begins with a communal breakfast. Major classes meet in classrooms, labs, studios, or out in Paris. Students arrange their own lunch at local restaurants or patisseries. Three afternoons a week are devoted to Minor classes; when there is no class, students can join optional activities such as sports, guest talks, visits to the Louvre, or boat trips. The day ends with a full-group dinner and evening activities, events, or shows.
The program includes transport to and from the airport, accommodation, breakfast and supper, all scheduled extra-curricular activities, and all course supplies. Classroom instruction, workshops, field trips, two daily meals, and all program-organized activities are covered. A select number of scholarships based on financial need are also available.
Students live in a centrally located boarding school in Paris, housed in singles or doubles. Rooms are dorm-style with shared facilities. Breakfast and dinner are served in the residence dining halls: breakfast is primarily continental with cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast, coffee, and tea, while dinner offers several options including a vegetarian dish and a salad bar. Special dinners are held regularly, and each program ends with a formal banquet. Students are responsible for their own lunch.
Shortly after the program, all students and their parents receive a comprehensive set of grade reports presenting the course syllabus and highlighting the student’s specific contributions and achievements within their course or courses.
