About

About the Course

The camp is a general holiday and activity programme rather than a taught course. The week is built around the autumn forest: discovery walks in the Dübener Heide, a large geocaching treasure hunt with GPS devices, a camp rally across the grounds, craft sessions, torch making, camp games and a "beat the group leader" contest. The published day-by-day plan is an example and may shift with the weather or local arrangements.

What’s Included

Six nights in the bed house or in a bungalow, full board, a full leisure programme, the day excursion and entry to the Belantis amusement park, the excursion to the Woliday adventure pool with its 80-metre water slide, the large geocaching treasure hunt, a visit to a riding stable with a first ride or a horse-drawn carriage trip through the Dübener Heide, attentive supervision and experienced tour leadership, a Jugendtours shirt and insolvency insurance. Travel to and from the camp is organised by the family and is not part of the package.

Accommodation

Participants stay in a friendly bed house with multi-bed rooms and shower and WC on the floor, or in a bungalow on the same grounds. Meals are served three times a day in the dining room by the camp cook. Next to the accommodation stands the old "witch house", which is kept for games.

Meal Plan

Full board throughout the stay, served in the camp dining room. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, fructose-free, sorbitol-free and pork-free catering is possible and is arranged at the time of booking. The camp states that it cannot cater for participants with a peanut allergy or for a protein-free diet.

Activities & Excursions

Football, volleyball, a small basketball court, table tennis and a disco room are available on the grounds. The programme adds geocaching through the forest with GPS devices, discovery walks, crafts, camp games, evenings around the campfire baking Knüppelkuchen, the included day at the Belantis amusement park, the Woliday adventure pool and the riding-stable visit. Further excursions and extra activities that are not already included can be booked locally on site.

Facilities

The Am Grenzbach holiday centre lies in woodland two kilometres from Bad Schmiedeberg. It has a bed house and bungalows, a dining room, a games house, a football and volleyball area, a small basketball court, a table tennis table and a disco room.

Camp Experience

The surrounding woods between the Elbe and the Mulde turn colour in autumn, with cranes passing overhead and sea eagles over the lakes. Groups of eight to ten children stay with the same group leaders for the whole trip, and a service team on site handles excursions, arrival logistics and meals. The camp notes that the trip is not suitable for participants with restricted mobility.
