A residential German and English summer camp for teenagers aged 12 to 16 on the shore of Lake Spitzingsee in the Bavarian Alps, fifty kilometres south of Munich. The camp occupies a restored hotel that is now a sports academy. Students take four lessons a day of German or English in international classes of no more than fifteen, join two activities every day and two excursions a week, and stay on site in rooms for three or four with their own shower and WC and full board.

About the Course

Lessons run Monday to Friday, four a day. Students choose German or English; German is taught from beginner through elementary to intermediate level, English at elementary and intermediate level. Classes hold no more than fifteen students and are international. The camp is open to teenagers from 12 to 16.

What’s Included

The package covers tuition, accommodation on site, full board, two activities a day, two excursions a week, transport and entry fees for the GLS activity programme, and insurance for medical care, liability and luggage. Stays run from one to three weeks. Transfers from the Munich airports and stations, optional add-on trips, the unaccompanied-minor service and extra nights are charged separately.

Accommodation

Students stay on the camp premises in rooms for three or four, each with its own shower and WC. The building is a restored hotel that now serves as a sports academy for German teenagers, and the camp takes up to eighty participants from more than fifty countries.

Meal Plan

Full board is included for the whole stay.

Activities & Excursions

Two activities every day and two excursions a week. The setting on the lake and in the mountains is used for climbing, hiking and swimming, and excursions go into Munich and around Bavaria. Transport and entry fees for the GLS activity programme are included; optional Sunday trips further afield are booked separately.

The camp occupies a restored hotel beside Lake Spitzingsee in the Bavarian Alps, now run as a sports academy, with classrooms, student rooms and shared areas on site and the lake and mountains immediately around it.

Camp Experience

A small camp in the mountains where teenagers from more than fifty countries learn German or English in the morning and spend the rest of the day climbing, hiking and swimming by one of the clearest lakes in the German Alps, with trips into Munich during the stay.
