The course is for students aged 16 and over who plan to study at a French university or enrol in higher education in France. The school teaches all levels, and students take an online level test before arrival.
The programme combines 20 standard French lessons with 8 DELF B2 preparation lessons per week, each lesson lasting 45 minutes. The standard course covers grammar, lexicon, phonetics and culture around the four CEFR skills, while the exam preparation sessions focus on methods and techniques for the exam and for university study. Classes run from 09:00 to 12:15 plus three afternoons from 13:15 to 15:30.
Groups are small, with 5 to 8 students and a maximum of 10.
Students have access to study manuals with corrections designed for DELF B2 preparation, two mock exams to identify strong and weak points, and a weekly DELF/DALF tutorial with a specialised teacher available to answer questions about the exam. A fully qualified teacher guides students throughout.
ILA offers carefully selected host families for full immersion in French daily life, comfortable student residences where students meet people from around the world, and an aparthotel option for independent accommodation.
ILA is the only school in Montpellier accredited by IALC, EAQUALS and International House World, and holds the Quality Label FLE. The school offers full support throughout the admission, visa process and pathways, and provides administrative support to long-term students enrolling in higher education institutions.
