About
About the Course
English is taught every day in small groups, and the operator sorts the children by level rather than by age alone, so a beginner and a confident speaker are not in the same lesson. Teaching runs on games, practical tasks and plenty of talking rather than textbook drill. All working materials are provided and every child leaves with a certificate of participation.
What’s Included
The price covers the whole stay: a bed in a multi-bed room near the beach, full board with drinks at meals, the daily English lessons with materials and certificate, the taster windsurfing course with equipment, free use of the surf kayaks and stand-up paddleboards when available, the beach olympics and round-the-clock supervision by the travel team. The operator states its price includes all listed services with no service or handling fee. A supervised train or bus journey from Hamburg or Berlin is offered at an extra charge, but the amount appears only inside the operator booking form.
Accommodation
The camp stays at the Sporthostel Schubybeach on the Schubystrand, a short walk from the sea. Children sleep in multi-bed rooms built for groups, with the leaders housed close by. Bed linen and towels are not provided and should be packed.
Meal Plan
Full board, with drinks available at mealtimes. The hostel caters the group for the length of the stay.
Activities & Excursions
The taster windsurfing course runs to roughly two sessions of two and a half hours with all equipment found, taught beside the camp. Beyond it the days are built around the beach: a beach olympics, swimming in the Baltic, beach games, and free use of surf kayaks and stand-up paddleboards when they are available. Much of the free-time programme is run in English, which is where the speaking practice continues.
Facilities
The sport hostel sits at Schubystrand near Damp on the Schleswig-Holstein coast, with the beach and the surf school as its nearest neighbours. Indoor and outdoor leisure space and the club watersport equipment are on site.
Camp Experience
Arrival is in the late afternoon and departure in the morning. Groups are kept to between four and fifteen children, and the camp takes children from seven, which makes it the operator entry point for a first stay away from home. The operator notes that this camp is generally not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
