About

About the Course

Language lessons run Monday to Friday mornings, fifteen hours a week, and each student takes French, English or German. A placement test on the first evening sets the level, and levels run from beginner to upper-intermediate. Classes are capped at six students per teacher.

What’s Included

The weekly price covers lessons, accommodation, homemade full board, three excursions a week, the leisure programme, round-the-clock supervision, the registration fee and a certificate of completion. The school offers a special discount — ask us for details. Room upgrades, the intensive course option, accompanied train travel and the airport transfer are booked separately.

Accommodation

Students stay at Château Monteret, the camp’s own house in St-Cergue, set in private forest above Lake Geneva. A place in a shared 10-bed room is included; 5-bed and 2-bed rooms are available as paid upgrades.

Meal Plan

Full board is prepared by the camp’s own kitchen team. Special diets are catered for at no extra cost when the kitchen is told in advance.

Activities & Excursions

Three excursions a week are included with tickets and transport. The other afternoons stay on site with sport on the camp’s own football and basketball grounds, art classes and cooking workshops, and the evenings bring camp games and film nights. Over the Easter weekend a supervised egg hunt and spring craft workshops run alongside the normal timetable.

Facilities

The camp occupies a private complex in the Jura Vaudois Nature Park at about 1000 metres, with its own football and basketball grounds, table tennis and campfire areas, and its own kitchen. The Chèvrerie-Monteret railway station is a short walk away. Geneva airport is around 35 minutes by car.

Camp Experience

St-Cergue is a village of about three thousand people on the Jura plateau, looking across Lake Geneva to Mont Blanc. The camp stays open from Good Friday through Easter Monday. Filolo is authorised by the DGEJ, the child and youth authority of the Canton of Vaud. A week runs from Sunday arrival to Saturday departure.

More about this camp

Château Monteret stands in private forest above St-Cergue, on the Jura plateau at about a thousand metres, with Lake Geneva below and the Alps across it. Filolo runs its Easter language camp there over the spring holidays, for children and teenagers aged 10 to 17. The teaching is fifteen hours a week, Monday to Friday mornings, in French, English or German. A placement test on the first evening sets the level, levels run from beginner to upper-intermediate, and classes are capped at six students per teacher — the number the timetable is built around rather than a best case. The teachers are native speakers and stay with the group through the afternoon and evening programme. Three excursions a week are included with tickets and transport. The other afternoons stay on site: the camp has its own football and basketball grounds, table tennis, art classes and a cooking atelier, and the evenings bring camp games and film nights. The camp stays open across the Easter weekend, with a supervised egg hunt and spring craft workshops added alongside the usual timetable. Students sleep in shared rooms at the château, with smaller rooms bookable as an upgrade, and the kitchen team cooks on site and covers special diets at no charge. Supervision is round the clock and the camp is authorised by the DGEJ of the Canton of Vaud. Arrival is Sunday, departure Saturday.
