A one-week residential IT holiday camp for children aged 10 to 14 at a youth hut village in the Vulkaneifel, in western Germany. Each participant picks one Minecraft course and works on it in a small group: an introduction to mod programming, complex machines, a city of the future built with command blocks, or entity mods with an introduction to artificial intelligence. Screen time alternates with a full outdoor holiday programme. The price covers the IT course, accommodation, full board and the whole leisure programme including excursions; families arrange the journey there and back themselves.

About
About the Course
Each child picks one Minecraft course and works on it in a small group, alternating with the outdoor programme. Four courses are published: an introduction to mod programming; building complex machines; automating a city of the future with command blocks; and entity mods with an introduction to artificial intelligence. The course is chosen during the booking process. The operator states that not every camp week offers all four, and publishes with each intake which of them run. Beginners and more experienced children are both catered for.
What’s Included
The school offers a special discount — ask us for details. The published price covers the IT course, accommodation at the hut village, full board and the entire leisure programme including excursions; the operator states there are no hidden costs. Travel to the camp and home again is arranged by the family and is not included in the price.
Accommodation
The camp is hosted at the Jugend-Huettendorf Vulkaneifel near Manderscheid, a youth hut village set in extensive woodland and meadows. Children sleep in rustic, heatable wooden huts, simply but comfortably furnished; no more than eight children share a hut and the exact number varies with the booking. Toilets, showers and washbasins are in a central, modern sanitary building. Rooms are allocated by gender, so there are boys’ and girls’ huts, and a child who asks to share with a particular friend can say so in the booking form.
Meal Plan
Full board is included in the price: three meals a day, one of them hot. Whether the hot meal is lunch or dinner depends on the site and the day plan — either a hot lunch with a cold supper, or a packed lunch with a hot evening meal. Vegetarian diets, allergies and intolerances are catered for where possible and are to be declared at check-in.
Activities & Excursions
Screen time is deliberately balanced against time outdoors. The published leisure programme includes a treasure hunt with raft building, swimming in a volcanic lake, team games, outdoor sports and excursions. The grounds hold a large playground, table-tennis tables, a kickabout pitch, a volleyball court and a basketball hoop, and balls, bats and further outdoor and indoor games are provided.
Facilities
The hut village offers heatable wooden huts, a central modern sanitary building with toilets, showers and washbasins, and a large site for play and sport within woodland and meadow surroundings. Sports and games equipment is available on site.
Camp Experience
A week of building, programming, laughing and outdoor adventure side by side. Children develop their own ideas, surprise themselves with what they manage, and barely notice how much they are learning. Supervision runs around the clock.

Minecraft IT Programme

The IT half of the camp. Each participant picks one Minecraft course and works on it in a small group, alternating with the outdoor leisure programme. Four courses are published: an introduction to mod programming; building complex machines; a city of the future automated with command blocks; and entity mods with an introduction to artificial intelligence. The course is chosen during booking, and which of the four run in a given intake is published by the operator with the intake.
The IT programme runs in blocks of about one and a half hours. The children are split into two groups that alternate between the IT sessions and the leisure programme, so both groups cover the same content, partly at different times; meals, the evening programme and the main excursion are shared by everyone. In the operator's sample weekly plan each group has about 16 hours of IT sessions over the week, with no session on arrival day and a short final session on the last morning before departure. The operator notes that the plan is an example and may vary.
Minecraft building, modding and programming, taught in small groups with round-the-clock supervision and balanced against an outdoor holiday programme.
