Chantemerle's summer camp fills a Swiss boarding-school campus on the hillside above Blonay, overlooking Lake Geneva between Vevey and Montreux. The school takes a maximum of sixty-five students, which is the point of it: the camp is small, family-run and personal rather than a large international operation. Mornings are for learning — small-group language classes, school revision and personal-development workshops. Afternoons are for sport and alpine adventure, evenings for games and camp social life, and the week includes excursions around the Lake Geneva region. The camp takes children and teenagers from six to sixteen, split into a Junior and a Teen group, and runs as a residential stay of one to five weeks or as a day camp for families already in the area. Stays start on a Sunday for residential campers and on a Monday for day campers, and the campus — classrooms, bedrooms, dining room and grounds — is the same for all of them.

About

About the Course

Mornings (09:15–13:15): small-group language classes and personal-development workshops with experienced teachers. Afternoons (14:30–18:30): sports, discovery and outdoor adventure. Evenings (20:30–22:00): games, workshops and social events, lights out at 22:00 depending on age. Formats: residential (one to five weeks), full-day camp (08:45–21:45, ending after the evening meal and the evening activity) or half day (08:45–13:45, academics and lunch).

What’s Included

Three formats share one campus. The residential stay is all-inclusive: accommodation, all meals, the academic mornings, the afternoon and evening programme, every excursion, the two-day trip to Europa-Park and airport transfers inside the school daytime window. The full-day camp covers the academic morning, lunch and the evening meal, the excursions and the whole activity programme, without an overnight stay. The half-day format covers the academic morning and lunch only. Charged separately and listed under extras: medical insurance, the sport academies, and — for day campers — the Europa-Park trip and airport transfers. A non-refundable down payment holds the place, and the balance falls due thirty days before the start.

Accommodation

Residential campers board on the Chantemerle school campus above Blonay, overlooking Lake Geneva. Room configurations vary — confirm when booking.

Meal Plan

Residential: full board. Day camp: lunch and evening meal included. Half-day: lunch included.

Activities & Excursions

Sport and outdoor adventure every afternoon, plus excursions across the Lake Geneva region and the Alps, and an evening programme of games, workshops and social events. Instead of the standard afternoon, a camper can take a specialist sport academy — football, basketball, rugby, half-day tennis or horse riding, or the full-day tennis and golf option. The academies are charged per five-day week and listed under extras.

Facilities

A boarding-school campus on the Swiss Riviera hillside between Vevey and Montreux, in an exceptional natural setting with quick access to the lake and Alps.

Camp Experience

A family-scale Swiss school that takes sixty-five students at most, run by the same family since it was founded and working to the rhythm of a year-round Swiss boarding school. Campers are six to sixteen, split into a Junior and a Teen group, and the small size is the reason staff know every child by name.

École Chantemerle (Swiss Camps)

Chantemerle International Summer Camp is held on the campus of an established Swiss boarding school in Blonay. Founded in 1966, Chantemerle offers children and teenagers aged 6–16 a structured residential experience combining education, adventure and international friendships. Each day balances small-group language and personal-development classes with sports, outdoor adventures and creative workshops. Campers can enjoy kayaking, sailing, climbing, archery, tennis, team sports, aquapark visits, cooking, arts and crafts, dance and 3D printing. Specialist academies in football, basketball, ice hockey, tennis, golf and horse riding may also be available. More than a traditional activity camp, Chantemerle introduces children to the rhythm of boarding-school life within a supportive international community. The programme encourages independence, confidence, healthy routines and perseverance while giving campers the opportunity to discover Switzerland, develop new interests and build lasting friendships.

More about this camp

Chantemerle International Summer Camp runs on the École Chantemerle campus on the hillside above Blonay, on the Swiss Riviera between Vevey and Montreux, overlooking Lake Geneva. The camp takes sixty-five students at most, drawn from around the world, so the mix is international without the scale of a large operation. Programme and activities. Mornings are given to learning: small-group language classes together with personal-development sessions. The small-group format matters more than the phrase suggests when children span 6 to 16, since it allows the teaching to be pitched to each age. Afternoons and the wider programme use the campus and its lakeside alpine setting. Formats — three to choose from. A residential option runs for one to five weeks. Two day formats are also offered: a half day with lunch, and a full day that runs from 08:45 to 21:45 and includes the evening meal. The day options make the camp accessible to families living on the Swiss Riviera or staying nearby, while the residential option suits those travelling from further afield. The one-to-five-week range on the residential programme is unusually flexible; most camps in this catalogue fix a length of one, two or four weeks. Accommodation. Residential campers board on the Chantemerle school campus. Room configurations vary, and the provider explicitly says to confirm at booking rather than publishing a fixed arrangement — so families with a preference should raise it early rather than assume. Ages and dates. All three formats accept children aged 6 to 16, one of the few options in the catalogue open to a 6-year-old. Residential stays start on a Sunday and day formats on a Monday, week by week from the end of June through the end of July. Location and travel. Blonay sits above Vevey and Montreux at the eastern end of Lake Geneva, in the canton of Vaud. Geneva is the usual arrival airport, roughly an hour and a half away. Airport transfers inside the school daytime window are part of the residential fee; day campers pay for them separately, and the supplement is listed under extras. Who the programme may suit. This camp may suit families wanting a Swiss lakeside setting with real flexibility over length and format, families already on the Riviera who need a day option, and those with a younger child who cannot meet the age minimum elsewhere. Parents of a 6 or 7-year-old should ask specifically how the youngest are grouped and supervised, since this is not published.
