About

About the Course

There are no lessons on this programme. The Beginner Weeks at Prieros are a supervised holiday week for children aged six to twelve, built around the lake, the camp's sports grounds and an evening programme, with guided outings during the week. It is aimed at children going away without their parents for the first time.

What’s Included

The package covers a seven-day stay with six nights in the bed-houses, full board with breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, use of the whole site including the beach and sports areas, the supervised activity programme and the included outings: the Irrlandia adventure park, the Haus des Waldes forest centre, a canoe trip on the Huschte-See, a campfire evening with bread baked on sticks, and a burger night. Travel to and from the camp is arranged by the family.

Accommodation

Children sleep in bed-houses on the site, in multi-bed rooms of two to six beds with modern shared sanitary facilities. Meals are taken in the camp's own dining room.

Meal Plan

Full board prepared on site, with breakfast, lunch, an evening meal and snacks between them.

Activities & Excursions

The lake is the centre of the week: the site has its own sandy beach with a marked non-swimmer area and a bathing jetty, and canoes and rowing boats for trips on the water. On land there is a football pitch, volleyball and basketball courts, a beach and streetball area, table tennis tables, wide open ground for ball and field games, and an adventure playground. Indoor activities fill the rest. Outings included in the week take in the Irrlandia adventure park and the Haus des Waldes forest centre. Further excursions not already included can be booked on site.

Facilities

The camp occupies around 45 000 square metres of enclosed grounds in the countryside south of Berlin, directly on the Huschte-See. It has bed-houses for guests, modern sanitary blocks, a dining room, its own sandy beach with a bathing jetty, boats, sports pitches and courts, table tennis and an adventure playground, with covered outdoor seating areas between the buildings.

Camp Experience

A first camp away from home on a large, enclosed site where everything — beach, sports ground, dining room and sleeping quarters — is within walking distance. Counsellors supervise throughout, and the non-swimmer area of the beach is marked off so younger children can swim safely.

More about this camp

The Beginner Weeks at Prieros are built for children taking their first holiday without their parents. The camp sits on roughly 45 000 square metres of enclosed grounds in the countryside south of Berlin, directly on the Huschte-See, so the water is part of daily life rather than an outing: the site has its own sandy beach with a marked non-swimmer area and a bathing jetty, and canoes and rowing boats for trips across the lake. Away from the water there is a football pitch, volleyball and basketball courts, a beach and streetball area, table tennis tables, wide open ground for ball and field games and an adventure playground, with indoor options when the weather turns. Children sleep in bed-houses in rooms of two to six beds with modern shared sanitary facilities, and the kitchen serves full board — breakfast, lunch, an evening meal and snacks in between. The week also goes beyond the gates. Included in the stay are visits to the Irrlandia adventure park and the Haus des Waldes forest centre, a canoe tour on the Huschte-See, an evening round the campfire baking bread on sticks, and a burger night. Counsellors supervise throughout, which is the point of a Beginner Week: a child who has not been away before has company, a routine and someone to ask. Families arrange their own travel to the camp.
