About
About the Course
A supervised winter travel programme, not a taught course. The group spends the first part of the stay in Krakow and then moves to Zakopane in the Tatra mountains. There is no lesson timetable: young people follow the programme with their supervising team, a director and qualified activity leaders, at a ratio of one adult for every eight participants.
What’s Included
The school offers a special discount - ask us for details. The price covers the camp itself with departure from Paris; travel is by scheduled flight with a stopover. Pre-travel connections from other French cities are offered by the operator as a paid supplement and are listed separately under extras. Group size runs from twelve to sixteen participants.
Accommodation
Youth hostels. Dormitories are not mixed and hold from four to ten beds; rooms are bright and finished in wood. Showers are either shared or in the room depending on the hostel. There is a shared kitchen and a common room used for activities. In Krakow the hostel stands in the city centre on the main promenade, about ten minutes from the station; in Zakopane it is some seven hundred and fifty metres from the Gubalowka lift.
Meal Plan
Breakfast is taken at the hostel, lunch is a packed picnic, and the evening meal is either in a small local restaurant or prepared by the group in the hostel kitchen.
Activities & Excursions
In Krakow: Wawel castle, the old town with its coloured facades, the former Jewish quarter, the underground galleries of the Wieliczka salt mines and a memorial visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau. In Zakopane: a day of alpine skiing when snow and weather allow, with snowshoe walks or sledging as the published alternative, snowball games, and three hours at the Chocholowskie thermal baths looking out on the snow-covered Tatras.
Facilities
The group is hosted in youth hostels with a shared kitchen, a common room used for activities, and shared or private showers. The Krakow hostel is on the main city-centre promenade within walking distance of the railway station; the Zakopane hostel sits close to the Gubalowka lift.
Camp Experience
A short winter stay that mixes a central European city with a mountain resort. Participants travel between the two by train, move as a small group with their leaders throughout, and take in one of the heaviest places in European history alongside days on the snow.
