Zigotours Morocco Autumn Camp: From the Desert to the Ocean

An itinerant camp: the group moves from city to city rather than staying in one centre. Marrakech opens the route with Jemaa el-Fna square, the Bahia Palace, the medina lanes and the souks of the tanners and jewellers, and closes it with the Oasiria water park. Ouarzazate brings the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the palm groves and the Dades gorges. At Zagora the group rides camels into the dunes and sleeps on the sand under the stars. Essaouira, the old Mogador, ends the stay on the Atlantic, with a trip south to Sidi Kaouki beach for a first surf lesson.

The published price covers the return flight from Paris with a stopover, transport on the ground, accommodation, meals, the activities and excursions of the programme, the supervising team and insurance. Departure from a regional city can be arranged by the operator's transport service; it is quoted case by case and is not included in the published price.

Small simple hotels in the town centres of Marrakech, Ouarzazate and Essaouira, and Berber tents in the desert during the camel trek. Rooms hold two to six people; a double bed may be shared.

Meals are taken in small local restaurants along the route.

Guided city walks and monument visits, souks and markets, a camel excursion with a night in the desert, the Dades gorges and the palm groves, an introduction to surfing at Sidi Kaouki and a water park day in Marrakech.

The camp has no fixed campus. Facilities are those of the hotels the group uses on the route and of the desert bivouac.

A first long-haul trip for teenagers, built around travel rather than a base: a new town every few days, nights that range from a town-centre hotel to a tent on the dunes, and a team that stays with the group throughout. Minimum twelve participants, maximum twenty-four, with one adult for every eight young people.
