The programme is for students who are 16 or 17 for its whole duration. There are no subject-specific entry requirements: the admissions team is looking for enthusiasm for the academic content and an interest in applying to university.
No. Teaching is in English and students need to be comfortable following and taking part in lectures, seminars and workshops, but no specific test or certificate is required as evidence of that.
Accommodation for every night, breakfasts and evening meals, refreshments, all academic and skills teaching, the guest lecture, the social programme, travel to Oxford and all the activities on trips are covered. Lunches, flights, snacks, souvenirs and any shopping are not.
Students live on campus in the Sherbourne halls of residence, in flats of around ten students, each with a single study bedroom and a private en-suite bathroom. A Summer School ambassador, who is a current Warwick student, lives in each flat and runs the social programme alongside the Summer School team.
You pick one of the six subject strands when you apply and follow it for the whole programme. Each strand samples several departments within its own area, so the breadth comes from inside the strand rather than from switching between them.
You complete the online application form, choose your course, pay the assessment fee and send a copy of your passport data page. The admissions team aims to respond within three to five working days; the offer then confirms the deadline for the deposit or the full payment that secures the place, and places are allocated first come, first served.
