St Giles London Explorer Week is a one-week, excursion-based summer programme run by St Giles International at UCL's Ramsay Hall in Central London. Instead of classroom lessons, students aged 12–17 improve their English fluency through full-day excursions every day — famous landmarks like Windsor Castle, the Tower of London and the Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio Tour, plus street markets, royal parks and creative neighbourhoods — with English practice, teamwork and socialising built into the programme. Key facts: Ages 12–17, minimum level A1; ideal for students with a higher level of English who prefer indirect learning. Dates: one fixed week, Sunday to Sunday. Price: a single full-package fee covering 7 nights in a single room with shared bathroom at Ramsay Hall, all meals — a mix of restaurants, cafés and packed lunches — all excursions and transport by private coach and London Underground, 24-hour supervision and insurance. Capacity: 45 participants, staff ratio 1:15–1:20. Students join the St Giles London Juniors evening programme. Best for: teens who have already done classroom-based summer courses and want a full-immersion London adventure week with new international friends. Parents should check: final dates and current prices, availability, airport transfer booking (individual students under 13 must travel as Unaccompanied Minors, for which the provider charges a UM fee per journey), visa requirements, dietary needs, and the refundable arrival deposit payable in cash. Information checked against official provider sources. Dates, prices and availability may change and should be confirmed directly with the camp provider.

More about this camp

Explorer Week is built the opposite way round from a classroom course. Instead of lessons, students aged 12 to 17 spend every day of the week on a full-day excursion, and their English improves through using it — asking questions, working in teams, socialising with people from other countries. The week takes in Windsor Castle, the Tower of London, the Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio Tour, St Paul's Cathedral, street markets, royal parks and creative neighbourhoods. Transport is by private coach and the London Underground, with entry fees included. In the evenings students join the St Giles London Juniors programme. The minimum level is A1, but the week suits students with a higher level of English who prefer to learn indirectly — often those who have already done a classroom-based summer course and want something different. Accommodation is seven nights in single student rooms with shared bathrooms at UCL's Ramsay Hall, with live-in staff and supervision around the clock. Capacity is forty-five participants. The price covers accommodation, all meals, all excursions and entry fees, all transport, insurance and supervision.
