About

About the Course

General English for ages 11-18: 15 hours a week, 10-12 lessons of 1 hour 30 minutes each, with breaks scheduled between them. Six levels are taught, from A1+ Elementary to C1+ Advanced on the CEFR scale, and classes hold a maximum of 18 students. The first part of the level test is taken online at home and the second part on the first day of classes. Classes run in modern classrooms with audio and visual equipment in the Monica Partridge teaching building, and the course finishes with a General English Certificate.

What’s Included

The Classic Programme is quoted per stay - one price for a 14-night stay and one for a 7-night stay; the amounts are in the price list on this page. The price covers tuition, campus accommodation, meals, the activity programme and three full-day excursions a week, with entry to Warwick Castle, Alton Towers and the two Shakespeare houses in Stratford-upon-Avon included. The centre runs two terms each summer, each of two weeks, both starting on a Friday, and holds 200 places. A refundable damage deposit is collected for the room and returned at the end of the stay, so it is not part of the course price; a lost key is charged separately. Airport transfers are not included and are priced in the school's own transfer price list. Gold and Platinum upgrades to the Classic Programme are sold as optional extras.

Accommodation

Students live on campus in Cavendish Hall, a short walk from the main teaching building, in single en-suite bedrooms with free Wi-Fi and a corridor layout. There is no access to kitchens; appliances are available on request and utensils are not provided. Linen is provided, towels are not. Rooms are cleaned before arrival and weekly afterwards. Shared common areas and study spaces are available for relaxing and socialising, the canteen is in the accommodation building, and a safe box is kept in the centre office. Security is on campus around the clock.

Meal Plan

Meals are served in the canteen in the accommodation building and are part of the Classic Programme. On full-day excursion days and on Sundays students receive a packed lunch instead of lunch on campus.

Activities & Excursions

Evening activities run daily between 20:00 and 22:00, and the day programme is built around sport, arts and performance. The published list includes football indoors and outdoors, volleyball, basketball, touch rugby, badminton, tennis on the campus courts, table tennis, rounders, hockey, yoga, Zumba and fitness classes and dancing. Creative workshops cover jewellery making, art workshops, mask making, sketching, mindfulness colouring, painting, origami, photography and nature art. Performance and games bring drama, musical theatre, conversation workshops, orienteering, TikTok challenges, capture the flag, talent shows and the Trashion Show, and evenings add film presentations, quiz nights, scavenger hunts, bingo and themed discos.
