About

About the Course

General English for ages 11-18: fifteen hours a week, in lessons of 1 hour 30 minutes with breaks between them. Six levels are taught, from A1+ Elementary to C1+ Advanced on the CEFR scale, and classes hold a maximum of eighteen students. An entry test places every student and teachers hold teaching certificates. The campus runs a zig-zag timetable, so classes alternate between morning and afternoon and the published order of the programme may be reversed. The course finishes with a General English Certificate.

What’s Included

The Classic Programme is quoted per stay - one amount for a 14-night stay and one for a 7-night stay; both are in the price list on this page. The price covers tuition, campus accommodation, meals, the activity programme and three full-day excursions a week. The centre runs two terms each summer, each of two weeks, both starting on a Friday, and holds 160 places. A refundable damage deposit is collected for the room and returned at the end of the stay, so it is not part of the course price; a replacement set of keys is charged separately. Airport transfers are not included and are priced in the school's own transfer price list. Gold and Platinum upgrades to the Classic Programme are sold as optional extras.

Accommodation

Students live on the Bognor Regis campus, in flats of up to six en-suite single bedrooms with a shared kitchen and common area. The flats are furnished to a high standard and student Wi-Fi reaches them; the kitchen is provided but appliances and utensils are not. The centre lists towels as included with the single rooms, and rooms are cleaned before arrival and weekly afterwards. The university keeps a 24-hour security presence, CCTV and secure access entry systems, and a safe box is available in the centre office.

Meal Plan

Meals are served on campus and are part of the Classic Programme: breakfast, lunch and dinner on class days. On full-day excursion days students are given lunch vouchers or cash for lunch rather than a packed lunch, as the daily programme sets out.

Activities & Excursions

Evening activities run daily and the day programme is built around sport, arts and performance. The published list includes football indoors and outdoors, volleyball, basketball, touch rugby, badminton, tennis, table tennis, rounders, hockey, yoga, Zumba and fitness classes, dancing and swimming at a local leisure centre, which may carry an extra charge. Creative workshops cover jewellery making, art workshops, mask making, sketching, mindfulness colouring, painting, origami, photography and nature art. Performance and games bring drama, musical theatre, conversation workshops, orienteering, TikTok challenges, capture the flag, talent shows and the Trashion Show, and competitions and championships are organised through each course. The evening programme at this centre runs a welcome disco, a football tournament, culture nights for Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales, a murder mystery, a talent show, the Trashion Show, a staff-versus-students sports tournament, yearbook making, a graduation and a leaving disco. Six full-day excursions a fortnight travel by private coach: Brighton, London, Portsmouth with its dockyard museums, a walking tour of Bognor Regis and Chichester, Oxford, and Stonehenge with Salisbury. Entry to Stonehenge and the Portsmouth dockyard museums is included, and an optional language-based activity day runs in each week.

Facilities

The campus is compact, with the accommodation on site, teaching and learning facilities, a large sports field and indoor space for students. There are vending machines, laundry services, a coffee shop and student Wi-Fi, and the campus canteen serves meals. The centre reports no common room, study room, computer room, games console room or swimming pool and no indoor sports facilities on site. First-aid-trained staff are on site and campus security is on duty around the clock. ATMs and cafes are available on campus, and a post office, a convenience store, places of worship, tourist information and shops are within walking distance.

Camp Experience

The Bognor Regis campus of the University of Chichester sits on the south coast of England, 0.6 miles from the town centre - a 15-minute walk, or five minutes by private coach or public bus - and a ten-minute walk from the beach. The seaside town is close to Chichester and within reach of Portsmouth and Brighton. All journeys on the excursion programme are made by private coach. The centre is accredited by the British Council. A centre manager, an excursion and activity manager and a welfare coordinator are on site 24/7; staff wear purple t-shirts and white lanyards, and students wear purple lanyards at all times.
