Grammar and listening are tested by an online level test before arrival; speaking and writing are tested on arrival. The school accepts levels from A1+ to C1+. Teachers hold a teaching certificate.

What’s Included

The base package is the Classic programme: lessons, campus accommodation, meals, the activity and excursion programme and three full-day excursions a week. Paid entry to Edinburgh Castle and a Loch Lomond cruise are included in Classic. Gold and Platinum upgrades are supplements on top of Classic and are listed as paid extras; Gold adds paid entry to Alnwick Castle. A damage deposit of GBP 100 or EUR 120 is collected on arrival and returned on departure.

Accommodation

Students stay in secure student flats beside the teaching building. Each flat has between four and six single en-suite bedrooms, a small fully fitted kitchen and a shared sitting area; the campus holds 600 single beds with a private shower room. The cooker is switched off for safety reasons and the kitchen has a fridge and freezer but no kettle or toaster. Linen is provided and changed once a week; towels are not provided. Rooms are cleaned before arrival, again within six to eight days of arrival and weekly after that. The campus has a 24-hour security presence, CCTV and secure access entry systems.

Meal Plan

Meals are served in the campus food hall, which looks out over the Scottish countryside. One packed lunch is provided for each full-day excursion.

Activities & Excursions

Three full-day excursions a week, all travel on the activity programme by private coach. Each group is given a disco evening on campus. Sport uses the indoor sports hall, the football pitch and the large grass areas outdoors.

Facilities

A compact green campus on the outskirts of the city with modern, interactive classrooms, an indoor sports hall, an astroturf pitch and wide outdoor spaces. There is a food hall, a coffee shop, computer access, laundry services and Wi-Fi across the campus, with a convenience store nearby. Reception is staffed around the clock and the main building stays open until the evening. A safe box is available in the office. There is no swimming pool and no games console room.

Camp Experience

The campus sits in Musselburgh, a small historical seaside town ten minutes' walk from its own town centre, with its shops and traditional Scottish cafes. Musselburgh train station is on the campus itself and trains reach Edinburgh city centre in six minutes; Edinburgh's old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
