About

About the Course

Visiting pupils follow the school's mainstream academic timetable alongside their British peers, taught in small classes by subject specialists. English is developed through the subjects themselves rather than in a separate language stream: EAL specialists work with each pupil one to one and inside the classroom, so that language and academic confidence grow together. The programme is offered as a single week or as two consecutive weeks.

What’s Included

The fee covers tuition and the academic programme, English language support, full boarding accommodation, meals, two cultural excursions including the Royal Windsor experience, and airport transfers. Fees for this programme are quoted exclusive of VAT, which is added at the prevailing rate. Every pupil who completes the programme receives an SGA International Immersion Certificate of Achievement together with an end-of-programme academic transcript.

Accommodation

Pupils board on the school's wooded campus in Royal Berkshire, in one of three family-style boarding houses, sharing daily life with the school's own boarders. Younger year groups share bright, spacious rooms with their own common room, kitchen and bathrooms, while older pupils share with one other and have their own desk. The boarding team is resident and experienced, and the school's inspection report describes a close-knit, home-from-home boarding community.

Meal Plan

Full board is included. All meals are taken with the boarding community in the school dining room, and boarding houses have their own kitchens for use between meals.

Activities & Excursions

Alongside lessons, pupils join the after-school and in-house activity programme run in the boarding houses, including weekend outings. Two signature cultural excursions are built into the stay, among them the Royal Windsor experience.

Facilities

The campus stands in woodland in Royal Berkshire, twenty minutes from London Heathrow Airport and under an hour from London Gatwick. Pupils have use of a 25-metre six-lane indoor swimming pool, a large sports hall, eight tennis courts, three football pitches, six floodlit netball courts and a sports pavilion, together with a 300-seat theatre, drama and dance studios, a purpose-built library, a science centre, art, textiles and photography studios, music rooms and a recording studio, and ICT suites.

Camp Experience

The programme is built for pupils who want to test British boarding school life from the inside rather than observe it. From the first day a visiting pupil is treated as a member of the school community, in lessons, in the boarding house and at weekends, with pastoral care from staff who live alongside them. For many families it works as a trial of a longer stay; for others it is a short, concentrated immersion in English and in the habits of a British classroom.

St George's Ascot

St George's Ascot is an independent day and boarding school in Royal Berkshire, set on a wooded campus at Ascot around twenty minutes from London Heathrow Airport and under an hour from London Gatwick. Alongside its mainstream curriculum for pupils aged 11-18, the school runs International Immersion Programmes in which visiting pupils join regular classes as full members of the boarding community. Small class sizes, subject-specialist staff and embedded one-to-one EAL support are designed to build both academic and everyday English, and every international pupil receives an SGA International Immersion Certificate of Achievement and an end-of-programme academic transcript.

More about this camp

St George's Ascot opens its mainstream timetable to visiting pupils aged 11 to 15 for a short residential immersion on its wooded campus in Royal Berkshire. Pupils are placed in regular classes with subject specialists, supported one to one by EAL teachers, and board in one of the school's three family-style houses alongside its own boarders. The stay includes two cultural excursions, among them the Royal Windsor experience, and the school arranges airport transfers from London Heathrow, twenty minutes away. Pupils leave with an SGA International Immersion Certificate of Achievement and an academic transcript. The programme suits families weighing a longer British boarding placement as much as those wanting a short, intensive period in an English-speaking classroom.
