SBC at Eton College is a two-week residential summer programme run by Summer Boarding Courses on the campus of Eton College in Windsor, for students aged twelve to sixteen with English at B1 and above. The academic core is the Global Leaders Simulation: teams run an invented company across a decade of trading, pitch to investors, negotiate deals and work through the crises the organisers throw at them, building English through British history, culture and institutions along the way. Teaching runs to twenty academic hours a week in classes of no more than fifteen. Residential students live in two boarding houses, one for boys and one for girls, in single bedrooms with shared bathrooms, on full board and with staff on call around the clock. Afternoons and evenings carry a full activity programme, and excursions take students to Westminster and the London Eye, to Windsor Castle and the town of Eton, and to a closing celebration at Dorney Lake.

About

About the Course

The academic core is the Global Leaders Simulation. Teams take charge of an invented company and trade it through a decade of boardroom decisions: they pitch to investors, negotiate deals and work through the crises the organisers put in front of them. English is built along the way through British history, culture and institutions rather than taught apart from the business work. Tuition runs to twenty academic hours a week and classes are capped at fifteen students, with an entry level of B1 and above.

What’s Included

The school offers a special discount - ask us for details. The residential package covers tuition and course materials, accommodation, all meals, the standard excursions including their entry costs, the daytime and evening activity programme, weekly laundry, Wi-Fi, a written progress report, a graduation certificate and student insurance. Flights and airport or train transfers are not included; a transfer service can be arranged for an additional fee. A day option is also sold, running from nine in the morning until nine at night, which carries the same tuition, activities and excursions but no accommodation and no laundry.

Accommodation

Residential students live on the Eton College campus in two boarding houses, one for boys and one for girls. Bedrooms are single, with shared bathrooms on the corridor. Staff are on call around the clock, and laundry is done once a week for residential students.

Meal Plan

Residential students are on full board, with every meal taken in the campus dining hall. Students on the day option receive lunch and the evening meal.

Activities & Excursions

Afternoons and evenings are filled rather than free. Sport covers badminton, basketball, cricket, football, rounders, swimming, tennis and bell boating on the water, alongside ball games and capture the flag. The social side runs to arts and crafts, a disco, an escape room, Taskmaster, a trashion show and a silly Olympics, with drama and STEM workshops in the mix. Excursions take students to Westminster and the London Eye for fieldwork around Parliament and the political landmarks of the capital, and to Windsor Castle and the town of Eton. The course closes with a celebration at Dorney Lake with bell boating, a barbecue and a farewell disco.

Facilities

The programme uses the Eton College campus: Jafar Hall for lectures and debating, a sports hall, an all-weather pitch, playing fields and tennis courts, and an indoor heated swimming pool. There is a modern dining hall, a student common room, Wi-Fi throughout and a laundry service.

Camp Experience

The campus sits a short walk from Windsor and about fifteen minutes from London Heathrow, so the river, the castle and the capital are all within easy reach. On certain afternoons students are given small-group free time in Eton and Windsor; those under eighteen need parental consent for it and carry the organiser's gold card while they are out.
