More about this camp

Oxford Summer Courses runs academic programmes in University of Oxford colleges, for teenagers aged 13 to 17. Students live in the colleges and study a chosen subject in the tutorial style associated with Oxford — a pre-university experience rather than a language or activity camp. Programme and activities. These are subject-focused academic courses: a student chooses a subject and studies it intensively, taught the Oxford way. Families should read which subjects are offered and confirm the expected level, as these are academic rather than general programmes. Accommodation. Students live in University of Oxford colleges. A Plus tier offers single or twin rooms with en-suite facilities, alongside a standard tier — so families can choose the accommodation standard. Living in the colleges is central to the experience. Families should confirm the tier and what supervision applies. Ages, dates and duration. The programme accepts teenagers aged 13 to 17. A very large number of arrival dates is listed from late June — one of the widest calendars in this catalogue — giving strong flexibility. This is an older, academically oriented intake. Location and travel. Oxford is around an hour from London and Heathrow by coach. Transfer arrangements are not published. Who the programme may suit. This programme may suit academically motivated teenagers who want to study a subject intensively while living in real Oxford colleges — a pre-university taste rather than an English course. The tiered accommodation and very wide calendar add flexibility. Oxford Summer Courses runs the equivalent in Cambridge colleges and a junior version at Harrow School, so families should compare on location and age.
