About

About the Course

Oxford College teaches two strands, Future Scholars: Humanities and Future Scholars: Science. Both run on twenty-five hours of academic content a week in classes capped at fifteen students, and both are built to prepare students for university entry rather than to cover a school syllabus: students read critically, build and defend arguments, handle evidence and present findings in seminar-style discussion. Around the taught hours the programme adds a college masterclass series, guest lectures and industry experience. The minimum English level to enrol is B1. Students finish with a certificate and a letter of reference.

What’s Included

The programme is sold per course in a residential and a day version, over two or four weeks depending on the start date chosen. The residential fee covers tuition, accommodation, all meals, course materials, the excursion programme, the extracurricular multi-activity programme, the college masterclass series, guest lectures, industry experience, the college ball and graduation ceremony, comprehensive travel insurance, a student report, a certificate and a letter of reference. Flights and airport or train transfers are not included; the operator offers a transfer service for an additional fee, quoted by its admissions team. A deposit per student is payable to secure a residential place and counts towards the course fee.

Accommodation

Residential students live and study on an Oxford college campus. Rooms are single bedrooms or twin rooms with shared bathroom facilities, and there is a student common room alongside a modern dining hall. Both room types are included in the course fee — the operator publishes no room upgrade charge. A laundry service is provided.

Meal Plan

The residential programme is full board: all meals are included and served in the college dining hall. The day programme includes lunch and the evening meal. The operator states it will do its best to meet dietary needs, giving vegetarian, vegan and Halal as examples.

Activities & Excursions

An extracurricular multi-activity programme runs alongside the academic timetable. The operator names arts and crafts, badminton, basketball, board games and puzzles, circuit training, creative writing, cricket, a film festival, football, karaoke, a murder mystery, museums, a photo challenge, a picnic in the park, punting, rounders, a silent disco, Taskmaster, a trashion show, volleyball and yoga. Excursions to London and around Oxford are part of the fee, and the programme closes with a college ball and a graduation ceremony.

Facilities

The programme runs on an Oxford college campus with a modern dining hall, a student common room, single bedrooms and twin rooms with shared bathrooms, Wi-Fi and a laundry service. The operator describes the setting as living and studying on campus at the University of Oxford, and does not name the individual college on its programme page. The city itself is part of the programme, with excursions in Oxford and a day in London.

Camp Experience

Oxford College sits in the College Pathways tier and is aimed at ages fifteen to seventeen who are deciding what to study and where. The operator frames it as a stepping stone to entry at top universities: university-style teaching in the morning, masterclasses and guest lectures from people working in the field, and evenings and weekends spent with students from around the world in an Oxford college. Pastoral care runs around the clock, and students leave with a letter of reference as well as a certificate.

Future Scholars: Humanities is the humanities strand of the Oxford College pre-university programme. Students work at the level and pace of a first-year undergraduate course, developing the academic skills universities expect — reading critically, building an argument, writing to a brief and defending a position in seminar discussion — while exploring humanities subjects they may go on to study. Teaching is supported by a college masterclass series, guest lectures and industry experience, and students finish with a letter of reference alongside their certificate.

Twenty-five hours of academic content per week, in classes of no more than fifteen students. Alongside the taught hours the programme includes a college masterclass series, guest lectures and industry experience. Minimum English level to enrol is B1.

Pre-university preparation in the humanities: academic skills for university entry, subject exploration and seminar-style discussion.

More about this camp

Oxford College is the pre-university tier of the Summer Boarding Courses programme, built for students aged fifteen to seventeen who are choosing a degree subject and preparing for competitive university entry. Two strands are taught: Future Scholars: Humanities and Future Scholars: Science. Both carry twenty-five hours of academic content a week in classes capped at fifteen students, and both are taught in the way a first-year undergraduate course is taught — students read critically, construct and defend an argument, work from evidence and present findings in seminar discussion rather than working through a school syllabus. The minimum English level to enrol is B1. What distinguishes the tier is what sits around the taught hours: a college masterclass series, guest lectures, and industry experience that puts students in front of people working in the fields they are considering. The programme closes with a graduation ceremony and a college ball, and students leave with a certificate and a letter of reference — the latter being the point for anyone assembling a university application. Residential students live and study on an Oxford college campus in single bedrooms or twin rooms with shared bathrooms, eat in a modern dining hall, and have a student common room, Wi-Fi and a laundry service. Pastoral care runs twenty-four hours a day. Away from lessons the extracurricular programme covers sport, creative and evening events — punting, cricket, rounders, volleyball, badminton, basketball, circuit training and yoga, alongside creative writing, a film festival, a silent disco, a murder mystery, Taskmaster, a trashion show and a photo challenge — with excursions in Oxford and a day in London included in the fee. A day version of the same academic programme is sold separately and includes lunch and the evening meal but no accommodation or laundry. Flights and airport or train transfers are not included; a transfer service is quoted by the operator’s admissions team.
