About

About the Course

Students follow twenty-five hours of learning a week, split between an Academy and a Pro-Specialism. The Academy block runs for fifteen hours a week and can be a Subject Academy or a Sports Academy; English Language and Advanced English are among the Subject Academy options. The Pro-Specialism block runs for ten hours a week alongside it. Published English levels run from elementary through to advanced, so the programme suits both learners of English as a foreign language and native speakers. A placement test is taken online before arrival, and each student receives an academic report and a completion certificate.

What’s Included

The published fee covers the whole stay chosen, not a single week: the school sells stays of one, two, three or four weeks and prices each length separately. Included in it are tuition, accommodation on campus, all meals, a laundry service, course materials, the daily social programme, one full-day and two half-day excursions each week, personal accident and travel insurance, and airport transfers for flights arriving and departing within the qualifying times the school publishes. Study options such as the Golf Academy, Karting School, Outdoor Leadership and the Golf Pro-Specialism carry an additional weekly fee, and a small number of Extra Adventures are bookable on top of the programme; all of them are listed separately with their own prices.

Accommodation

Students live on the campus itself. The school describes spacious, well-designed bedrooms shared with three to six other students from other countries, a deliberate arrangement so that students speak English throughout the day rather than only in lessons. Staffing is published at one member of staff to every four students. The school does not publish single or twin rooms as a bookable alternative, so no room upgrade is offered.

Meal Plan

All meals are included in the published fee. The campus has its own dining room where students eat together.

Activities & Excursions

A daily social programme runs alongside lessons, made up of Club Time activities during the day and evening events, and the school counts premium activities within it rather than charging for them separately. Each week includes one full-day excursion and two half-day excursions; destinations the school names include Oxford, Liverpool, Bristol, Bath and Ludlow Castle. Adventure and sports activities are available through the Sports Academy and Pro-Specialism blocks.

Facilities

The programme runs on the twenty-hectare campus of Moor Park, one of the independent schools in the area, a short distance from the historic market town of Ludlow in Shropshire. Facilities used by the programme include classrooms, the dining room, sports grounds and, for the golf option, an eighteen-hole golf course in Ludlow.

Camp Experience

The school positions itself as a small, personalised summer school rather than a large one, and the nationality mix and staff ratio are part of that pitch. Students arrive and depart on Sundays, and transfers are published for London Heathrow, Birmingham International and Eurostar arrivals at St Pancras from Paris.

More about this camp

The programme is built around twenty-five hours of learning a week: fifteen hours in a Subject or Sports Academy and ten hours in a Pro-Specialism chosen alongside it. English Language and Advanced English sit among the Academy options, and published entry levels run from elementary to advanced, so the school takes both learners of English as a foreign language and native speakers. A placement test is taken online before arrival and each student leaves with an academic report and a completion certificate. Students live on the campus in shared bedrooms of four to seven, arranged deliberately by nationality mix so that English is spoken outside lessons as well as in them; the school publishes a ratio of one member of staff to every four students. All meals are taken in the campus dining room and a laundry service is included. Outside lessons the week carries more than twenty hours of activities, one full-day excursion and two half-day excursions, with Oxford, Liverpool, Bristol, Bath and Ludlow Castle among the destinations the school names. Golf, karting and outdoor leadership are available as study options carrying an additional weekly fee, and a small number of extra adventures can be booked on top of the programme. Arrivals and departures fall on Sundays, with transfers published for London Heathrow, Birmingham International and Eurostar arrivals into St Pancras.
