More about this camp

The Loxdale Brighton Young Learners Summer Camp runs at Loxdale English Centre in Brighton, on the East Sussex coast. It is an all-inclusive residential programme for students aged 8 to 17. Programme and activities. Students take 20 English lessons (15 hours) per week, with afternoon and evening activities and weekend excursions, all within an all-inclusive package. Brighton's seaside-city character supports the activity side. Accommodation and supervision. Pre-teens stay in on-site residential accommodation with 24/7 supervision, and the provider notes that staff sleep in the same building. Staff sleeping on-site with the youngest children is a specific and reassuring supervision detail, more concrete than most camps publish, and worth weighing for a family sending a young child. Families should still confirm the arrangements for older students. Ages, dates and duration. The camp accepts students aged 8 to 17 — reaching younger than most, so it works for a primary-age child. Eighteen arrival dates are listed from mid-June, a very wide calendar. Families of the youngest children should confirm how age groups are separated. Location and travel. Brighton is on the south coast, around an hour from London by train and close to Gatwick — a practical airport for a younger child travelling alone. Transfer arrangements are not published. Who the programme may suit. This camp may suit families wanting a contained, all-inclusive English camp with a clear, closely supervised arrangement for a younger child — the staff-sleeping-on-site detail speaks directly to that concern. The wide age range and generous calendar add flexibility. Families with only older teenagers may prefer a programme with a narrower band, but for a mixed-age family or a younger child, the supervision and inclusivity are the draw.
