More about this camp

The LiA London Summer Centre at UEL Docklands runs the Language in Action programme at the University of East London Docklands Campus, on the waterfront of the Royal Albert Dock in east London. It accepts students aged 12 to 18. Programme and activities. Students take 30 hours of English tuition per two-week term. Unlike LiA's central Bloomsbury centres, this is a modern, self-contained waterfront campus rather than a city-centre location, with central London reachable for excursions — a more contained environment than the Bloomsbury options. Accommodation. Students stay in on-campus accommodation at UEL Docklands, with weekly room cleaning, bed linen and on-site laundry. The self-contained campus keeps accommodation and teaching together on one waterfront site. Families should confirm room arrangements and supervision outside teaching hours. Ages, dates and duration. The centre accepts students aged 12 to 18. The upper limit reaches past school-leaving age, so families should ask how age groups are separated. Three arrival dates are listed from early July. Location and travel. The Royal Docks are in east London, served by the DLR and very close to London City Airport — the most convenient London airport for this centre — with the rest of the city reachable across the network. Transfer arrangements are not published. Who the programme may suit. This centre may suit teenagers who want a contained, modern waterfront campus rather than a central-city location, and families who value the proximity to London City Airport. It is the most self-contained of LiA's London options. Given the intake runs to 18, families of a younger teenager should confirm grouping and supervision, and compare with the provider's Bloomsbury centres.
