More about this camp

The LiA London Summer Centre at Parry Hall runs the Language in Action programme at Hughes Parry Hall, a University of London residence on Cartwright Gardens in Bloomsbury. It accepts students aged 12 to 18. Programme and activities. Students take 30 hours of English tuition per two-week term — an intensive load. As with LiA's Garden Halls centre a few doors away on the same street, the Bloomsbury location puts London's university and museum quarter on the doorstep, with the whole city on the underground. Accommodation. Students stay at Hughes Parry Hall, a University of London residence on Cartwright Gardens. This is a near-neighbour of the provider's Garden Halls residence, so the two are very similar in location; families choosing between them should ask the provider what distinguishes the residences themselves. Families should confirm room arrangements and supervision outside teaching hours. Ages, dates and duration. The centre accepts students aged 12 to 18. The upper limit reaches past school-leaving age, so families should ask how age groups are separated. Four arrival dates are listed from late June. Location and travel. Cartwright Gardens is in Bloomsbury, central London, close to King's Cross and St Pancras. All London airports are reachable. Transfer arrangements are not published. Who the programme may suit. This centre may suit teenagers wanting a central-London base with a heavy teaching load. Because LiA runs two residences on the same street — Parry Hall and Garden Halls — families should confirm what actually differs between them before choosing, and compare with the provider's UCL and UEL Docklands London centres. Given the intake runs to 18, families of a younger teenager should confirm grouping and supervision.
